Chapter 3
A week passed.
I got a job at Central Hospital.
Medicine was my major when I was an undergraduate. After graduation, I spent two more years at a medical research institute.
My parents were still worried.
I knew they had people following me.
I wasn’t mad.
After all, it was Trevon and Hannah’s engagement party. My parents couldn’t afford to have me make trouble.
It’d ruin our family.
I’d really love to tell them they were overthinking it. I was no longer that Seraphina in the past.
I no longer loved Trevon.
To my surprise, a few days later, Hannah came to see me in the hospital.
We sat opposite each other, and even the air was filled with embarrassment.
She claimed she had been coughing these days, but after checking her minor symptoms, I knew it was just her excuse.

Chapter 3
She was here for me.
I prescribed her something.
Clutching the sheet, she didn’t leave.
Instead, she took off her sunglasses,
“Seraphina, you’ve become much thinner.”
I no longer wanted any connection to any of those people in that circle.
Not to mention it was Hannah–my previous rival in love.
I lost to her completely.
I didn’t respond to her statement.
Instead, I said, my voice flat, “You can fetch your medication on the first floor. My next patient is waiting for me.”
She stared at me, not moving.
“You seem different.
“You’re so quiet, but you used to be the bubbliest among us.”
I smiled.
“Ms. Nash, why exactly are you here? I thought you were here because of your cough. Weren’t you?”
She said nothing more.
Putting on her sunglasses, she walked out.
The second she stepped out, I looked at her feet.

Chapter 3
1288 Vouchers
She fell off the stairs three years ago, hurting her leg badly.
There was a lot of blood, and she had to undergo several surgeries.
I was blamed ever since that.
We were the only two people upstairs.
I tried desperately to defend myself, telling others she fell off the stairs herself.
But no one believed me.
Trevon picked her up, the distress in his eyes more than
obvious.
“Trevon, I didn’t do it!” I said hastily.
Before I could finish speaking, he kicked me in the stomach.
“Scram,” he said.
It was the first time anyone had ever attacked me.
Maybe it was the first time he had ever attacked a girl, too.
Shortly after, I received a lawsuit from the Parker Group’s lawyers.
Hannah wasn’t part of the Parker family; it was Trevon who insisted on making things right for her.
I almost went to jail.
It was said that Winston Parker, Trevon’s grandpa, talked to him, which was why I ended up being forced abroad.
