Jonathan stared at the divorce papers, his pupils shrinking sharply. Every word on the page felt like it was burning into his eyes.
He suddenly looked up as if he couldn’t believe what he saw. Then, he looked down again, double checking the familiar signature. It was definitely his handwriting

Dean clutched his chest before he could finish speaking, face turning pale as he staggered backward.
The old butler rushed to catch him, but Dean suddenly raised his hand. Smack! He slapped Jonathan hard across the face.
“You ungrateful brat!” Dean was shaking with rage, pointing at the emerald pendant and divorce agreement on the ground. “What the hell is going on?
Jonathan’s left cheek swelled rapidly, but he felt no pain. His gaze remained fixed on the divorce agreement
At that moment, Wendy, standing anxiously off the side, suddenly rushed forward. The tears streaming down her face as she blocked. Jonathan from his father.}
“Sir, please don’t hit Jonathan!” she sobbed pitifully, reaching out to support Dean.
“It’s all my fault, I made Madam angry and she left… “You? The banquet hall fell dead silent. Everyone’s eyes were locked on this dramatic scene.
Suddenly, Dean’s breathing turned rapid. His face flushed red, then turned bluish as he clutched his chest and collapsed into a chair
“Sirl Call an ambulance, now!” the old butler cried out in panic.!
Amidst the chaos, someone suddenly exclaimed, “Look at that girl’s stomach!”
Instantly, everyone’s gaze shifted to Wendy.
She wore a form–fitting dress and a slight bump in her lower abdomen was faintly visible under the lights R
Wendy panicked, instinctively stepping back, even feeling a dull ache in her stomach.

“No wonder his wife filed for divorce.”
“Jonathan actually knocked up the mistress and drove his wife away, didn’t he?”
Jonathan’s face darkened ominously as he heard the whisper. He grabbed Wendy’s wrist, his voice icy. “We’re leaving
Wendy wanted to say something, but she swallowed her words when she saw the terrifying look in Jonathan’s eyes.
He roughly pulled her through the crowd, the guests parting to make way for them.
*Jonathan, you’re hurting me.” Wendy pleaded softly, a red mark already forming around her wrist where he gripped her

Jonathan paced back and forth restlessly outside the VIP hospital ward. He r repeatedly dialed his wife’s number, only to be met with the cold, automated voice saying the phone was switched off.
