Jonathan slumped on the sofa, the whiskey glass in his hand long emptied.
The alcohol burned through his nerves and the world in front of him began to blur and sway.
He grabbed his phone, fingers clumsily swiping through his contacts until they stopped on a familiar number

He scoffed and tilted his head back, smashing the glass against the fireplace.
The sound of shattering glass echoed loudly in the empty living room.!!

A soft female voice floated down from the stairs.
Jonathan squinted his drunken eyes and saw Yvonne standing on the staircase in a silk nightgown, the warm yellow light outlining her slender figure.
“What are you doing here?” His voice was raspy and thick with the smell of alcohol
Yvonne slowly walked down the stairs, the hem of her nightgown swaying gently with her movements.!
“Wendy’s pregnant now. It’s hard for her to look after you. Earlier, your father mentioned you didn’t want a housekeeper, so I thought I’d stop by and check on you….”
Jonathan stared at her for a few seconds, then suddenly sneered. “Worried about me? You’d be better off worrying about my dad,”
