When Yennifer messaged to ask Emelie their travel plans and how they were enjoying their trip, Emelie was lounging underneath a parasol.
In front of her, William was preparing to paraglide under the guidance of a professional instructor.
She sent her mother a ten-second video and recorded a voice message. “We’ve arrived in Fensworth and are having fun. William is about to try paragliding.”
For centuries, humans had been fascinated by the sky and the sea. This led to the creation of activities like paragliding and diving, where they attempted to conquer the natural heights and depths of this world.
William had never mentioned his interest before, but on the day they arrived in Fensworth, the butler casually mentioned that paragliding was a popular activity here. The idea of soaring above the sea intrigued him.
When he told Emelie his desire to try paragliding, her initial reaction was to stop him. She was worried about the risks and whether his body could handle it.
However, he managed to convince her. This was a unique experience and, since they were here, he didn’t want to miss out.
Yennifer was worried as well, and she called immediately. “Mandy, is paragliding safe? You’re jumping off a cliff! What if something goes wrong? You should just go for a hot air balloon ride if you want to fly!”
Emelie laughed and replied, “It’s perfectly safe. This paragliding club is very professional. There haven’t been any accidents in the past 20 years. Plus, a coach will be flying with William.”
Then, she teased, “Even if he does fall, he’ll land in the sea. There are lifeguards there, and William can swim, so don’t worry. It’s completely safe, Mom.”
Yennifer grumbled playfully, “Don’t jinx it! He won’t fall!”
Yennifer relaxed after being reassured by Emelie’s explanations and the couple’s cautious nature. She knew that, as an elder, it was best to avoid nagging and giving overbearing advice. It would only annoy the younger generation.
Emelie also asked about Yennifer and Greta’s trip to Sentiland.
Yennifer responded with delight, “We went to Bexley and Luton, and today we’re heading to Clacton and Rivermouth. The weather here is wonderful. Why don’t you come over?”
Emelie smiled, “We won’t be joining you. Just enjoy yourselves.”
At that moment, William called out, “Angel, look over here!”
Emelie looked over, and William smiled at her before sprinting toward the cliff. Unable to stay seated, she stood up and watched as he leaped off the high cliff like a bird taking flight.
Despite having agreed to William’s paragliding adventure and reassured Yennifer, seeing him leap off the cliff still made her heart race instinctively.
However, the next second, the parachute deployed. William soared into the sky, spreading his wings freely in Emelie’s eyes.
As she watched, her own eyes sparkled with joy, and she couldn’t help but smile. For the first time, she truly understood the meaning of the word “freedom”. They were free.
Where once she was bound by family grievances and resentments, and William was constrained by secrets and illness, now they were now liberated, both in body and soul.
They had rented an SUV and were driving along the D400 coastal highway. This road, winding along the Midageo sea, offered breathtaking views of the sea. It was so stunning that it was hard to look away.
Emelie took her camera and climbed onto the roof of the SUV, snapping countless photos to create postcards for
each of her friends.
She planned to stamp them with various international and local postmarks. While it might take a while for them to arrive, she hoped the surprise would be worth the wait.
During their road trip, they stopped at a small town called Kaz, where they enjoyed a meal at a cave restaurant and watched a Thalassan dance performance.
The male dancers, clad in flowing white robes, performed to the rhythm of drums and flutes. They told a story through their movements.
The restaurant owner explained that these dances were originally part of religious ceremonies and had become a form of entertainment.
After the road trip, Emelie and William rejoined their team and headed to Tuz Salt Lake, often referred to as the ” Mirror of the Sky”.
It was Emelie’s first time seeing a pink lake. Its ethereal beauty, with hues that seemed enhanced by filters, left her awestruck.
William even considered calling back the makeup team, who had already returned home, to take more wedding photos at the lake.
However, Emelie firmly refused. It seemed that he was addicted to being photographed now.
They spent a few days in a small wooden cabin near Tuz Salt Lake, where they could hear the gentle lapping of the
water.
Then, they traveled to Dewhurst. Although Emelie couldn’t paraglide as she had hoped, she could experience the renowned hot air balloons of Caporia.
Emelie wasn’t afraid of heights, so she leaned over the edge of the balloon basket, marveling at the surreal landscape of Dewhurst.
William pulled her back, wrapped his arms around her waist, and kissed her eyes.
“Thank you, angel,” he said suddenly.
“For what?” Emelie laughed. “Did I give you a raise last night?”
william smiled, grateful for the chance to start anew. His original plan had been to help her complete her revenge, then admit to the crimes he had or had not committed during the. Eventually, he’d die in prison from his illness.
He had hoped that his death would bring her happiness at the end. But she had given him a second chance and a will to live.
Without her, they wouldn’t have this moment. So, he was grateful to her.
Dewhurst was enchanting, like a town from a fairytale. The houses were built against the mountains and glowed warmly at night, resembling a scene from an animated film.
They spent a week there. Their honeymoon, which had lasted a month and a half, was nearing its end. They had enjoyed a leisurely pace, often staying several days in one place to savor local cuisine and culture.
It was the most comfortable and joyous period of Emelie’s life. The same could be said for William.
They returned where their journey started-Ravenport. They spent a few days exploring the city’s districts and historical sites, including St. Sophia Church. They also visited the Irragin Strait at night, taking in the dazzling lights and lively atmosphere.
By mid-July, they were preparing to head home. However, the night before their flight, Emelie had a change of heart.
She said, “William, take the private plane to go back to Capebatt City, along with the gifts I bought. I’ve enclosed cards in each gift, specifying the recipients. Please deliver them for me.”
William asked, “Aren’t you coming back with me? Where are you going?”
Emelie replied, “I want to fly to Mercianna.”
