Chapter 906 The Obnoxious Poster

At 4:00 am local time, their private jet landed in Ravenport.

There was only a five-hour time difference between the two locations, and since they had plenty of rest on the plane, they were completely refreshed. After landing, the two of them, along with their butler and bodyguards, went out to explore Independence Avenue.

This was the commercial hub of Thalassa, bustling with life, filled with tourists,

international brands, and restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. They also had dinner here, choosing to enjoy the local delicacies.

One dish of stewed meat was very different from the stews back home. It was flavored with yogurt, giving it a sour taste, but overall, it wasn’t bad. However, Emelie wasn’t used to the combination of yogurt and meat. Not wanting to waste food, William ended up finishing that dish.

Emelie preferred their thin flatbread, which was similar to pizza with its crispy crust. It was topped with a variety of flavorful fillings.

Upon the butler’s recommendation, they also tried a national drink called Ayram. It was essentially yogurt mixed with water and salt, which surprisingly didn’t taste too bad.

Emelie was eager to try more, like grape leaves stuffed with rice, mashed potatoes baked with different fillings, roasted meat covered in tomato sauce, and lamb intestines stuffed with lemon and herbs. These were dishes she never would have imagined could be put together.

Still, her curiosity got the better of her, and she wanted to try everything. If something didn’t taste good, she could always hand it over to William, her personal “garbage disposal.”

Eventually, though, William couldn’t eat anymore. When Emelie saw a small stand outside the restaurant making sesame rings, she wanted to go buy one. As she walked past him, William stretched out his arm and wrapped it around her waist before pulling her onto his lap.

“Hey!” she exclaimed.

After all, the butler and bodyguards were watching them.

William tried to reason with her, “Angel, we’ll be staying in Thalassa for a long time. You’ll have plenty of time to explore all the food. How about we try something new tomorrow? I’m really full today.”

Heavens knew how picky William used to be about food. If a dish didn’t meet his high standards, no matter how good it was said to be, he wouldn’t touch it.

He used to be so particular, but now, he willingly acted as her food disposal. It was a complete transformation from his old self.

However, even a human garbage disposal had its limits.

Emelie thought that his reasoning made sense, so she decided to pass on the sesame rings for now. She got up from his lap and sat beside him on a chair, ordering one last dish, which was burritos stuffed with beef, yogurt, and tomatoes.

Curious, she asked the butler, “Do Thalassans really like yogurt that much?” Every dish seemed to involve yogurt in some way.

The butler smiled and nodded. “Yes, yogurt and dairy products have a long history in Thalassa’s culinary culture.”

“Every country and region has its own food culture,” William said softly. “One of the joys of traveling is experiencing different customs and seeing life from a new perspective. We can make time to travel every year for a month or two.”

Emelie rested her chin in her hand. “You make a good point, but if you run out of money, you can’t always rely on working for me, right? So, I might not only travel with you. I could go with Ashley, Mona, or even my two moms.”

William found her both amusing and exasperating. “Fair enough.”

“But what about the company if I’m off traveling?”

“I’ll manage it.”

“And the kids?”

“I’ll take care of them. I should be doing that anyway.”

Emelie crossed her legs under the table and playfully rubbed her foot against William’s leg.”

Mr. Middleton, you’ve become quite the homemaker, haven’t you?”

William’s eyes darkened slightly. “I should be.”

Emelie laughed. Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the (ƒ)indNƟvᴇl.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

They bought a lot of unique souvenirs on Independence Avenue, some for themselves and some for their friends.

For larger items, the butler arranged to have them shipped back to Cedonia, while the smaller ones would be sent aboard their private jet to return with them.

After a satisfying day, they returned to the hotel to rest and adjust to the time difference. Once they felt comfortable, they hopped in a motorhome and set off from Ravenport to Velmontis to experience the Mediterranean charm.

In the quaint town of Ashenfort, they enjoyed a peaceful afternoon while sipping Thalassan

tea.

William noticed several tourists taking photos, so he picked up his phone and snapped a picture of Emelie, who was gently stroking a fluffy cat owned by the cafe.

When William told Jayden he was taking Emelie on a trip, Jayden, being an experienced traveler, gave him a piece of advice to learn some photography skills.

Jayden had seriously told him that women love taking pictures when they travel and post them on social media. If William could take good photos, it would improve his standing at home.

William didn’t quite believe this. After all, since he met Emelie, she’d never posted a single selfie.

Still, he had spent some time on the plane learning a bit about photography online. “You never know when it might come in handy,” he thought.

Now, as he snapped photos, he realized learning wasn’t necessary at all. Emelie’s abilities often overshadowed her beauty, but with her face, any random shot could easily be posted

online.

So, that afternoon, William’s Instagram friends were flooded with new posts. Every time they scrolled, there was another. And each post was a nine-photo grid filled to the brim, with most of the pictures looking almost identical. In particular, there were 12 photos of Emelie petting the same cat.

Sure, the sunshine, breeze, subject, cat, and background were all perfect, creating a serene picture, but that didn’t justify posting 12 nearly identical photos.

When Emelie finally checked her phone, she felt like the sky was falling. For the first time, she truly understood how Ashley felt. Having an obnoxious poster for a husband was so

embarrassing.

What made it worse was that they had so many mutual friends, and Emelie saw them

chatting in William’s comment section.

Elias commented, “Sometimes I really want to mute Will.”

Jayden added, “You did the same thing when you went to Luminaris with Ms. Thornton. You

two are alike, so stop laughing at him.”

Elias replied, “Not even close! No matter how much I want to show off my darling Ashley, I wouldn’t post 12 identical photos.”

Mona chimed in, “Let’s be fair. The photos aren’t identical. In the first and second shots, Eme’s hair is blowing at a slightly different angle. Clearly, he was spamming while taking

the pictures.”

Elias responded, “I’m seriously impressed. I’ve known Will for decades, and I only now realize he has no sense of aesthetics.”

Jayden replied, “Doesn’t Ms. Hoven have any sense of aesthetics either?”

Lyle commented, “I’m guessing Ms. Hoven doesn’t know what he posted.”

Bullseye.

Emelie stared at William glumly. “What did you do?”

William had seen the comments too but didn’t think it was a big deal. He thought every

photo looked great and couldn’t choose, so he posted them all.

Calmly, he suggested, “Angel, they have this type of coffee fortune-telling here. Want to try

it?”

Emelie took a deep breath. “Delete the posts first.”

“I can’t delete them.” William was unwilling to part with his handiwork.

“You’re not getting paid today.”

“I still won’t delete them.”

She was speechless.

Coffee fortune-telling was part of Thalassan culture, said to predict the future.

The process involved drinking local coffee, leaving the last sip in the cup, covering the cup

with the saucer, and silently thinking of a question. Then, people would gently shake the cup, flip it upside down, and let it cool.

A coin or ring was placed on the cup to ward off bad omens. Once cooled, the people would reveal the cup and observe the patterns left by the coffee grounds on the bottom and sides. The patterns were then interpreted.

Since William drank the coffee, he was the one to be “read.” He took off his wedding ring and placed it on the cup. When the cup was finally uncovered, it revealed a full moon shape. The fortune-teller excitedly told them that it was a sign of good luck. Whatever they were hoping for would turn out well.

Emelie leaned closer to William and asked curiously, “What did you ask about the future?”

William slid his ring back onto his finger. Seeing her so close, he kissed her gently on the lips and said, “I’m praying for your safe delivery and a healthy baby, of course.”
