My so–called best friend had her eye on my husband.
She got me drunk and took some private photos of me unconscious with a stranger.
My husband booted me out, and my little boy, just five, started despising
me.
Only my sickly daughter was willing to stick by me.
I figured we’d be out on the street, but then these three farmers came to
our rescue.
They claimed to be my long–lost brothers.
With their help, my daughter and I got a fresh start on their farm until my ex tracked us down, trying to snatch my daughter away.
“Grace, you can be as loose as you want, but our daughter isn’t staying with you. You’ll ruin her,” my ex spat, trying to take my daughter.

He lashed out. kicking me square in the gut, but I still wouldn’t budge, even when he crushed my hand under his heel
“Or maybe I’ll take you too, if you beg and clean my shoes” Antonio Kaufman’s eyes were crazed, his voice dripping with scorn
“I haven’t done anything wrong! No way I’m saying sorry!” I shot back at Antomo.
My daughter. Mollie Kaufman, even got in on it, sinking her teeth into his shoulder.
Antonio scowled and whacked the back of her head. “Mollie. I’m your dad, and you bit me?”
It just made Mollie fight harder.
Antonio balled up his fist and aimed it at Mollie’s face.
“Keep your hands off my daughter!” I threw myself at Antonio, not letting him hurt Mollic.
Back then, to keep me from getting any money after we split, Antonio was ready to show my naked pictures to everyone.
While people were cursing me out, Antonio was scheming to steal my daughter
Mollie told me that she wanted to be with me and handed over every last cent from her piggy bank to fund our escape.
Antonio, in his twisted mind, figured Mollie had gone sour, so he let her have it with a slap.
The thought of what Antonio might do to Mollie if he got his hands on her turned my stomach
Antonio was taken aback when I stood up to him, fighting for our daughter
He slapped me so hard that I hit the dirt
With a sinister chuckle, Antonio kicked me down and then stomped on my back with all his might
A searing pain in my chest, and the next thing I knew. I was coughing up
blood.
Mollie, seeing me spit out blood, screamed, “Let go of my mom!”
“Mollie, if you want to keep your mom safe, come with me and get out of here!” Antonio tried to threaten Mollie.
My poor Mollie, just nine years old, was terrified. Seeing me on the floor, she begged. “Please don’t hurt Mom…”
Antonio, with a darkened face, flung me aside and hoisted Mollie up, ready to walk off. “You’ll never see Mollie again, you heartless witch!”
But Mollie wriggled in his grip, shouting, “I want my mom. You bad man. put me down!”
The more she resisted, the angrier Antonio grew.
Mollie sank her teeth into his shoulder once more. That was when he lost it, tossing her aside like she was nothing.
“Mollie, you’re begging for it!” Antonio growled. He unfastened his cuffs. ready to roll up his sleeves.
As soon as Mollie landed on the ground, she sprinted toward me, not minding Antonio’s threatening posture.
When she saw the blood on my hand, her eyes welled up with tears. Yet, she still helped me to my feet.
“Mom, we need to get out of here,” Mollic urged. I clenched my teeth against the throbbing pain and managed to stand up. Together, Mollie and
I started to run
Antonio was seething, his anger boiling over. He had no one to vent it on, so he screamed at us as we fled, “Grace, if you truly care about Mollie, you’d tell her to come with me instead of staying in this damn place with

you!”
He warned. “Don’t push me!”
Mollie and I didn’t dare to look back. I pulled out my phone and called my brother, Nathan Parrish.
Nathan picked up on the first ring.
“Nathan, we’re in deep trouble…” I began.
But before I could even ask for help, Antonio closed the distance, snatched the phone from my hand, and smashed it on the ground.
“Don’t you dare call your lover for help,” he bellowed. “No one’s coming to rescue you!”
Antonio stared at the broken phone, his rage still not quenched. He picked it up again and smashed it once more.
His fury was palpable, and it made no sense to me.
We were divorced, and it was only fair that I should move on. So why was he so furious?
I had clearly underestimated his anger.
As I tugged Mollie to keep moving, a damp cloth was suddenly clamped over my mouth and nose.
