“Really, Gil? Think about it,” Sherilyn replied, putting down her glass of lemonade and pointing inside it as if the answer lay at the bottom. “Don’t you think you should consider Jenna’s feelings?” Marriage is no small matter.

Ah. The realization hit Gilbert like a delayed reaction, and he nodded, a bit sheepishly. “You’re right. I wasn’t thinking.”

“Their story?” Gilbert laughed, “That’s a slow burner. My brother’s shy. Rebecca still has no idea he’s into her. It’s going to take a while…”
Just then, Jenna’s cry echoed through the house.
Sherilyn moved to get up, but Gilbert gestured for her to stay. “I got this. Perfect dad-daughter bonding opportunity.”
With long strides, he entered Jenna’s room.

Jenna had picked out her clothes the night before. “Mr. Gilbert, over there.”
She pointed to the clothes rack in the corner.
“Alright.”
Holding Jenna with one arm, Gilbert grabbed the clothes with the other, then gently dressed her, showing the loving
