Sherilyn lay quietly, pretending not to hear until he had left the room. Then, slowly, she opened her eyes.

That afternoon, Sherilyn had another session in the hyperbaric chamber and felt much better.
She was supposed to be discharged the next morning, but she didn’t want to wait.
Staying would mean just lying around, and what if Gilbert showed up again?

Gilbert’s expression darkened. She was still so weak, and yet acting so recklessly!
