“Sure.” Nolan frowned slightly, nodding his head, choosing not to say more.
Naylor looked up, his gaze landing on Gilbert, his smile unwavering, “You just asked if you called me ‘Dad’, would I dare to respond?”
“I asked. What about it?” Gilbert lifted his chin defiantly, “So?”
“Alright then.” Naylor’s smile softened as he nodded, “There’s nothing I wouldn’t dare.”
“!!”
Gilbert was so shocked it seemed like his breath was momentarily taken away, “What do you mean?”
Naylor ignored his confusion, his smile dimming slightly.
He spoke in a low, serious tone, “What I mean is, I’ll call you ‘son’, on one condition… You actually have to be my son.”
Before Gilbert could probe further, Naylor called out, “Nolan!”
“Right here!” Nolan understood immediately, clapping his hands together softly.
Instantly, a group entered from the side room. Dressed in white lab coats, their faces hidden behind masks and caps. Doctors!
Nolan gestured again, and this time, several bodyguards surged forward, surrounding Gilbert.
“What are you doing?”
Before Gilbert could react, Naylor spoke again, his voice calm and collected, “I’d advise you to cooperate. Don’t forget, I’ve got your two ladies in my grasp.”
In an instant, Gilbert’s fight seemed to drain away, his gaze filled with helpless rage as he stared at Naylor, “What the hell do you want?”
“Sit.”
Naylor pointed to the sofa, then to the doctors, “Sit down. They’re just going to take some blood. It won’t be too painful.”
After a moment’s hesitation, Gilbert complied.
As he sat, a doctor approached, rolling up his sleeve, tying a tourniquet, disinfecting the area, and then drawing blood. Watching his blood flow, Gilbert seemed to understand.
“Naylor, are you planning on doing a paternity test?”
“Not too slow on the uptake.”
Naylor smiled, pleased, “Well, if you were, you wouldn’t have lasted alt these years in the Johnson family, having everyone in Sunhaven believe you’re the Johnson family’s second son.”
His smile deepened.
“Even if you’re not my son, your abilities have earned my respect.”
As he spoke, the doctor finished drawing blood.
“Cut the crap!”
Gilbert pressed a cotton ball to the needle site, “I’m not here to listen to you ramble. Where are my people?” Naylor paused, his lips curving slightly.
“Your two ladies, huh? Each more beautiful than the last. Good taste.”
“Where are they?” Gilbert’s gaze grew dangerously dark, his patience running thin.
Naylor still didn’t answer, simply smiling, “Which of these women do you prefer, hm?”
“None of your damn business!”
Gilbert, patience exhausted, leaned forward, grabbing Naylor by the collar, his lips tight, his eyes fierce.
“I’ll ask one more time! Where are they?”
In that moment, Naylor was almost lifted off his feet.
He was indeed getting old, especially compared to the youthful Gilbert, highlighting a stark contrast.
Seeing this, Nolan urgently said, “Mr. Nine! Please, let go!”
“Nolan.” Naylor, however, just smiled and waved him off, “My issues your Mr. Nine aren’t your concern.
Step back, will you?” Contence with
“Sure.” Nolan reluctantly stepped aside, frowning.
Gilbert wasn’t playing games.
“Naylor, I’m asking one last time, where are they? You’ve aged! And I’m not the kid who used to get pushed around anymore! If you dare harm@hair on their heads, I swear, I’ll make you regret it, I’ll bring down the Harrison family!”
