Sherilyn was set on having this baby; she wasn’t about to take any risks.
Today wasn’t a recording day, but rather a meeting to discuss the upcoming show schedule. Sherilyn sat quietly in the corner, listening attentively and only chiming in when asked about her expertise.
As the meeting was winding down, her replacement from the dance troupe arrived.
After handing over, Sherilyn slipped out of the conference room, unnoticed.
“Sherilyn!”
Heading towards the dressing room, someone called out to her.
Turning, she saw it was the producer of the show. “Mr. Hale?”
“Good, you haven’t left yet.”
Mr. Hale smiled, nodding. “You’re about to head out, so I’ll cut to the chase. Sherilyn, how about joining the inner circle?”
It wasn’t entirely unexpected. Sherilyn smiled, politely declining. “Thank you for the offer, but I don’t think it’s the right fit for me.”
“Why not?”
Mr. Hale waved his hand dismissively, his eyes shining with excitement.
“I’ve had my eye on you for quite some time. This show has gathered many talented women in the industry, but the moment you step on stage, you outshine them all. You’re the brightest star!” Despite such high praise, Sherilyn simply smiled. “You’re too kind, but a career isn’t built on looks alone.”
“It’s not just about looks!”
Mr. Hale persisted, “It’s about presence! Sure, the industry has its fair share of pretty faces, but your aura… it’s unique! I’m confident that with your willingness, you’d skyrocket to fame!” However, Sherilyn remained unmoved.
She had turned down Blake before, and now, she would do the same with Mr. Hale. “I’m sorry, but I really don’t have any interest in that. I’m afraid I’ll have to disappoint you.”
“I see…”
“I have to go now.”

Leaving the station, Sherilyn returned to the Sunset Ridge Community.
Sophia greeted her at the door. “Jenna played herself out with Dawn this afternoon and fell asleep after her bath. She’s been in good spirits, eating well, though a bit picky about her vegetables.”
“Sophia, you’ve been a great help.” Sherilyn thanked her. “I’ll stay with her tonight. You get some rest.”
Then, she quietly entered Jenna’s room.
It had been a while since Sherilyn and Jenna lay together.

Closing her eyes, she drifted into a peaceful sleep.
“Mommy! Mommy!”
Feeling incredibly groggy, Sherilyn slowly woke up to Jenna’s cheerful voice, “Mommy, you sleepyhead! Time to get up!”
“Good morning, Jenna.” Sherilyn struggled to open her eyes. It was nearly ten o’clock.
She had slept in?
That’s a twelve-hour sleep.
But Sherilyn still felt exhausted, her body heavy. Was it the pregnancy?
She didn’t remember feeling this way with Jenna, but then again, every pregnancy is different, even for the same person.
“Mommy, get up!” Jenna tugged at her, “Sophia said it’s bad to sleep on an empty stomach!”
Sherilyn smiled, getting up and hugging Jenna. “Alright, I’ll listen to Jenna.”
Getting up, they headed to the bathroom to start the day.
