I had no idea where I was going, but kept walking straight for an hour, My heart was so much in pain that i
couldn’t feel the pain in my stomach.
I thought maybe I could forget the pain if I walked so much.
As I walked, I reached Ace’s favourite restaurant. No, it’s Elena’s favourite restaurant. My heart sank and I
immediately threw a punch in the air.
“Ashley?”
I flinched, hearing the familiar voice, and I turned behind. It was Asher.
For some reason, he could always see my embarrassing sides. I hated it, but at this moment, only he seemed to
be by my side.
Seeing him, I let my tears out, and hugged him. Asher didn’t say a word, and simply caressed me.
After I finally stopped, his eyes turned stern. “What are you doing at midnight? Do you know it’s winter, and it’s freaking -2” C? And, your health.
Before I completed my sentence, he walked to a store, and brought two coffees.
As he handed me the coffee, he looked at me, expecting my answer. I sighed. “I left. I couldn’t do it anymore.”
He sighed, standing up “Let me drop you.”
I grabbed his jacket, and pulled him lightly. “1… I don’t have anywhere to go.”
He looked at me for a moment before he finally added, “Come with me. You can stay for sometime.”
G
I looked at him baffled I didn’t know why he was helping me so much when in business, I had gone against him
more than once. However, at this moment, he seemed reliable, and I blankly agreed.
It wasn’t like I could stay out there all night in this freezing weather.
As we went inside the car, I asked, “What are you doing here at this time?”
“Thanks to someone, I missed my dinner twice.”
I blushed, hearing him say it. I hadn’t thought about it all this time, but I was hungry. After all, I didn’t have food since the afternoon. It was only after he told me that I felt hungry again And, tired…
I yawned as I blinked my eyes open. The car wasn’t moving, and we were inside the garrage. Flinching. I looked at my side, and I saw Asher, almost dozing off
Then, I saw his jacket over me. I smiled, and took a look at the time. “1:49 am.”
I must have dozed off, and Asher didn’t wake me up.
“Awake?” I flinched at his words, and I nodded.
He smiled politely as we got out of the car.
As he took me inside, and showed me around his house, I was baffled. For some reason, it felt as if someone
made this house according to my wish. Simple, peaceful, and elegant.
I had no idea if I was stupid that I was actually relaxing in a stranger’s house but it seemed as if we knew each
other
I shook my thoughts away, and as he went for a shower, I went to the kitchen.
The fridge was empty, only filled with instant foods, and I sighed at that.
He mustn’t have someone to take care off him. How could he survive on these alone? But, right now, this was the
only thing we could eat
Before he came out, I cooked the instant noodles, and waited for him.
“Oh, wow, you made it. Thanks.”
“It’s not something to be thankful about. You’ve literally only this in the fridge, and that’s not good for your
health.”
He sighed. “I thanked you because you still had the heart to make it after everything.”
I rolled my eyes.
After the dinner as we sat together awkwardly, I frowned, and tried to put on a smile. “Thank you. For everything.
“Don’t force yourself to smile. That looks ugly. When are you going to tell your brother?”
I raised my eyebrows. “How did you know I have a brother?”
He coughed. “I guessed.”
“Do we know each other?”
He chuckled “That’s a bad pick–up line.”
Heaving a sigh, I went to the guest room. Who was I kidding? How could we know each other? But, even if I
didn’t know him, he felt closer to me than anyone else would. How could he bring me into his house like a stray cat
though?
“Forget it” I thought to myself, shaking my thoughts away.
