Lemira flipped the dinner table over, and then casually wiped her hands.
Alaric, witnessing Lemira’s uncharacteristic outburst, exclaimed, “Lemira, have you lost your mind?”
Lemira had never acted out like this before, even going as far as to use a lighter to set Evelina’s belongings on fire! It was so unlike her.
Lemira kicked a chair aside, her voice indifferent, tinged with impatience, “You all are too noisy. If you don’t want to eat, then let’s not eat at all!”
Her patience was wearing thin. She couldn’t stand watching the fake angel Evelina put on her act any longer. It was nauseating.
Evelina immediately burst into tears, “It’s all my fault, all my fault. I’m the real sinner here!”
“Eve, you’re just too kind. If anyone should leave, it’s her!”
Lemira readily agreed, “Fine, I’ll leave!” Now that her objective was achieved, she saw no reason to waste more time here.
Lucian instantly objected, “No, Lemon, you can’t leave. This is your home. Where else could you go?”
“Lucian, just cancel her credit cards and let’s see how long she can last out there on her own!”
Lemira, unfazed, didn’t take it to heart the least bit, “Whatever.”
The memory of her credit cards being canceled in her previous life, leaving her destitute and nearly begging on the streets, was something she could never forget.

Lemira returned to her room, packed a backpack with a few clothes and her ID, leaving everything else behind.
Lucian was panicking, “Lemon, don’t listen to Alaric’s nonsense, okay? Didn’t you say you’d come back after your exams?”
Lemira’s gaze was calm, “Yes, I did say that.”
But she had only said it to prevent Lucian and Alaric from doing something drastic that could affect her exams judging from their personality.
Now that her exams were over, nothing could affect her anymore. Why should she continue to suffer in silence?
“Lemmy, we’re family, blood is thicker than water. Any misunderstandings we have aren’t insurmountable, right? I know I’ve been unfair to you in the past, and I really will make it up to you.”

those past memories felt like knives, keeping him awake.

serene, “Lucian, don’t say that. I plan to find a part-time job and learn to live independently. Let Evelina have my room. After all, her father saved

Alaric walked over, “Hmph, you should have done that a long time ago.”
It seemed Lemira was still afraid of cutting ties with him!

Alaric suddenly panicked, “Lucian, are you really letting her go?”
Lucian gave a wry smile, “What else can I do? You were the one who told her to leave, weren’t you? Weren’t you the one who wanted to sever ties with her?” “I-I was just being angry!”
“Alaric, the hurtful words you’ve said can’t just be taken back that easily.”
The damage was done and would never dissipate. Lucian looked resigned, seeing in Alaric a reflection of his former self.
Evelina, sensing Lucian’s mood shift, quickly offered, “Lucian, I’ll move out. Then maybe you can convince Lemmy to come back.”
Lucian shook his head, “No need. You stay for now.” Solving the issue with Lemira wasn’t as simple as Evelina moving out. “Lucian, I’ve made up my mind. Thank you for taking care of me all these years.”
Evelina turned to pack her things, realizing Lucian’s rapid change in attitude. If she didn’t act now, Lucian would definitely grow suspicious.
