In the afternoon, the wedding came to a successful end.
After seeing off the guests, my dad immediately put on a serious face and asked my mom to continue calling me.
Vivian’s eyes were red from lears, and the water droplets on the corners of her eyes reflected the light from the chandelier, making her seem heartbreakingly fragile. She held Dad’s hand and spoke considerately, “Let it go, Dad. Willow is still a child. She must be throwing a tantrum. I am her older sister and it’s my responsibility to tolerate her childish behavior.”
As expected, a hint of pain flashed through Dad’s eyes.
Joshua said discontentedly, “Sis, you give her too much credit. You treat her like your little sister, but does she ever repay you by respecting you as her older sister?”
Vivian bit her lip and looked almost on the verge of tears.

Vivian was always like this.

My mom became even angrier and threw the cake directly into the trash can.
After she went into the bedroom and slammed the door, I looked
at Vivian in tears.
With no one else around, she finally revealed her true self.
The ten–year–old Vivian had an angelical smile on her face, but her words were like poisoned blades.
“Willow Jones, why were you born?”
She caressed my face with her warm fingertips, then suddenly pinched my cheek with full force. The pain came too quickly and I didn’t even remember to scream. I just stared at her in fear.
“Dad and Mom only loved me, but now you’ve come and taken away their love. You should die with your twin brother.”
I never understood why she hated me so much.
After Joshua was born, she was actually very kind to him.
In the year that I took my SAT and was preparing to apply to universities, Joshua was studying for his SSAT.

After I attended my dream school in another state, Vivian, who was already 22 years old and missed the critical window to pick up an instrument, suddenly wanted to learn piano.
My mom had the moving company throw my bed and wardrobe away and redecorated my room to Vivian’s piano room. My clothes and other private belongings were packed into boxes and put away in the storage room.

“You have become so independent now, and you won’t listen to anything I say. You don’t plan to come back to this house, so what’s the point of keeping your old room?”
