Looking at the content on the paper, my dad’s face turned really pale.
Dad’s phone suddenly rang, reminding him that a message was coming in. He quickly checked, thinking it was from me.
However, it was a message from his secretary, telling him that all of their partners had canceled their collaborations. The companies they owed money to were now coming to demand payment.
“What in the world is going on now?!” Dad’s complexion turned even paler.

I knew what was going on. These were all my mom’s doing.
She had come back for me.
Lying on a stretcher in the helicopter, I watched my dad and Travis through my tablet as they moved about in the hospital.
Dad and Travis ran to my room, searching desperately for me, but the only thing they found was the bed that Travis had kicked out of place.
“Where’s my daughter? Where have you hidden her?” Dad grabbed the arms of Travis‘ assistant and asked desperately.
Travis also panicked. “Have you seen where she went? She was badly injured. How could she leave the hospital?”
The assistant had been holding in her frustration all day and

finally couldn’t take it anymore.

She pulled away from my dad’s grasp and snapped, “You know she was badly hurt! So why did you wait so long to get her to undergo surgery?
“Do you know that not only can she never have children, but she can never live a normal life like you healthy people in the future? Are you even her family, treating her like this?
“You two are seriously worse than animals!”
Dad and Travis stood there, not a single word coming out of their mouth. Their faces were filled with guilt and shame.
The assistant sighed, helpless. “I don’t know where she went. Maybe she’s too disappointed in you both and left on her
own…”
Dad shook his head vigorously. “How could that be? Grace loved being with us. She would have wanted nothing more than to spend every day with us. She wouldn’t leave on her own!”
Travis‘ face was full of worry. “Her injuries are so severe. She couldn’t have just walked off on her own like that. Something bad is bound to happen!”
I watched their performance coldly, feeling no emotional pull.
All I wanted was for them to pay for what they’d done.
At that moment, Travis received a message. It was from someone I had sent.
It contained everything I had overheard from Dad’s and Travis‘ own mouths, including how they had hired two thugs

to drag me into the woods and assault me, only to make sure Nicole could marry Antonio smoothly. And how they had purposely delayed my surgery until after the wedding ended.
After reading it, my dad collapsed to the floor, trembling. “Go find her! No matter what, we have to bring Grace back! She’s my daughter. I can’t let her hate us!”
Travis stared at the message with despair in his eyes. “Grace knows everything now. How could she ever forgive us? She’ll never want me back as her brother.”
Even so, my dad and Travis shook off their despair, grabbed their phones, and started frantically contacting people to find
me.
At that moment, Nicole came over after finishing her supper, still wearing that eye–catching wedding dress.
Nicole playfully pouted at them, “Dad, Travis, I can’t stay with you tonight. I’m going to find my wonderful husband!”
In the past, even if Nicole had just said one word, they would have immediately surrounded her, doting on her.
Now, my dad only responded coldly, “Do as you wish.”
Nicole’s eyes welled up instantly. “Why are you two being so cold to me? Did Grace say something bad about me?”
When Nicole mentioned my name, my dad immediately asked, “Have you seen Grace? She was in the room earlier, but now she’s disappeared. Do you know where she went?”
Travis also stared at Nicole intently.

My dad immediately denied it. “That’s impossible! Grace. would never leave with anyone!”
Travis shook his head violently. “Grace would never have anything to do with such people. You must’ve made a mistake.”
Nicole’s voice quivered as she spoke again, “I know Grace is your real daughter, and you trust her more than me.
“But if she could seduce two thugs into the woods, it’s not so strange that she’s leaving with several men now, is it?
“Fine, since you two prefer Grace over me, I’ll leave.
“I won’t bother you anymore.”
Nicole turned to walk away, expecting my dad and Travis to rush over, apologize, and try to cheer her up.
But my dad and Travis only stood there without moving a bit.
Nicole could only walk away by herself.
I watched through my tablet as Nicole reached the end of the hallway and made a phone call.
“Mitch, you did a great job with Grace earlier, I’m very satisfied. Now, I need you to help me stage another scene.”
Mitch! Hearing that name made my hatred flare up instantly. He was one of the two thugs who had assaulted me earlier.
It turned out that Nicole wasn’t just a bystander in what happened to me–she was directly involved!
