Grace was on the flight to Asolen, but Antonio was still in the dark. On his way home, he bought chestnut cake, Grace’s favorite dessert.
Antonio felt this was the most memorable and happiest birthday he had ever had as he had a sweet wife and a beautiful mistress and was about to have a son and a daughter.
Antonio’s good mood was gone when he opened the door and found an empty house.
Fretted, he looked around the house hastily.
The sweet woman who would sit on the couch to wait up was nowhere to be found. His heart pounded frantically.
A feeling of anxiety and fear washed over Antonio.
He took out his phone and called Grace, but the ringtone came from the table in the living room. It eased his mind. “She didn’t even bring her phone with her. She can’t go far.”

When Antonio saw the gift inside, his heart sank. His whole body shook due to boundless fear.
Inside the box, there were a baby’s B–ultrasound photo and the surgery rèport of Grace’s abortion.
Their baby had been developing well and was healthy, but he would

Panicked, Antonio crumpled the report into a ball and started looking for Grace again in the empty house. “Grace, you’re scaring me. This isn’t funny.

Antonio stared at the familiar surroundings blankly.
Suddenly, he thought of something and grabbed Grace’s phone. The password was the same, the date of his birthday.
Looking at the things he found in the phone, Antonio felt like he had been struck by lightning. The latest message was from one hour ago.
It was a sex video from Corine.
Hitting play, Antonio heard Corine’s voice from the phone.
“You chose me over her on this big day. It shows that I’m the most important person to you, not her, right?”
At that time, Antonio was lost in lust and didn’t think when he answered, “Of course.” Grace’s phone fell from Antonio’s hand and the screen cracked.
Antonio shook his head in disbelief.
“This isn’t true. Grace, you got it wrong. Come out, please. Let me explain,” Antonio murmured as if he was trying to convince himself. “I didn’t mean it. I said it to please her only. I’ve warned her. She can never replace you in my heart.”
Antonio knew what he had done well and he knew Grace better.

Grace looked delicate, but she was sensible and tough. When she loved someone, she didn’t hold back.

Antonio fell to the cold floor, head spinning. He couldn’t find the strength to get up as he kept thinking, “She knew.”
Grace didn’t cry or start a fight only because she wanted to surprise him. when she left. Tears streamed down Antonio’s face without a sound.

Grace? For her ruthless abandoning him? Antonio didn’t have the heart to blame her.
Thinking about their past happy days, Antonio thought he had experienced the heartbreak Grace felt. Not to mention that she was carrying their baby when she did.
Grace had been in poor health and hadn’t been able to stand the slightest pain since she was little.
Antonio wondered how she pulled through. Covering his face, he started sobbing.

Antonio’s heart squeezed tightly.
It reminded him of what Grace said when they got married.

But Grace had kept her word.
