Antonio scolded, “Grace, you’ve been a spoiled brat for as long as I can remember, and I’m sick of it.
“Michelle enmed that award fair and square. You’re accusing her of stealing your work, but where’s your proof? If you can’t prove it, you’re just throwing baseless accusations.”
“Grace, I promise I didn’t take your design.
“You’ve never liked me. How could I have even gotten near your computer? Michelle, feeling mistreated, cried and sought comfort in Antonio’s arms.
I turned to Tyler, my gaze piercing.
My computer was kept in the study, a place he was always around.
Tyler, looking shifty, couldn’t meet my eyes.
At this point, it was as clear as day what was going on.
“Grace, take a look at yourself.” Antonio looked down at me with a superior air.
He flicked the red bracelet in my direction, and it fell at my feet.
“I don’t know why I ever fell for you,” he said, his tone laced with
Sarcasm.
I was ready to hit back with a sharp remark, but then I noticed the necklace Michelle was wearing.

I took a closer look and my blood boiled.
It was a diamond necklace, shaped like a tulip, a gift from my mom.
“Tyler, how could you give away Mom’s necklace to her!” I pointed right at Michelle, my eyes on fire with rage.
Tyler pressed his lips, looking pretty uneasy. “Grace…”
Michelle was crying, her head down, as she tried to unclasp the necklace with trembling fingers.
“I’m sorry, Grace. I didn’t know it was a gift from your mom. I’ll give it back.” she said with teary eyes.
But Tyler was quick to jump in, his voice soft but firm. “Michelle, it’s okay. You keep it. I gave it to you.”
Then he turned to me, trying to reason. “It’s just a necklace, Grace. If Michelle loves it, she should keep it. I’ll get you another one, a better
one.”
My heart felt like it was being ripped apart, and my voice was shaky. “That necklace was from Mom, Tyler. You don’t get to make that
call.
“I’d rather break it into a million pieces than let that woman’s daughter have it.” I spat out, not caring who knew how I felt.
Tyler’s face flickered with a mix of embarrassment and anger. “Grace, don’t be so hostile toward Michelle.
