Relief washed over me the moment I heard Duncan and Tristan’s voices.
With the cops at their backs, the goons released me without a second thought.
Yet. they still passed the signed agreement to Antonio.
No matter what, even if I agreed to give a kidney to Carson, I’d never hand over Mollie’s custody to Antonio. Not a chance.
If Mollie fell into this family’s clutches, she’d be doomed, even if she survived the operation.
Caroline caught me trying to snatch the agreement back and scoffed, “Grace, get a grip. Carson is your own son. He’ll take care of you when you’re old, whether you raise him or not!”
I snapped, “You have no say over Mollie, and neither do I! Carson is sick, but there are other options. You can’t push Mollie into this…”
Tristan, a respected surgeon, was incensed when he heard the Kaufman family was forcing Mollie to donate her kidney.

Antonio glared at Duncan and Tristan, who stood a head taller than him, annoyance etched on his face. “The doctors know what they’re doing. Dr. Parrish, a top expert, is heading up my son’s surgery. His plan is flawless. It’s not up for debate.”

I treated Caroline as my best friend. Yet, she crossed the line by taking my husband and turning my own son against me. Despite the pain. I had somehow kept my composure.

Concerned for Mollie’s well–being, I didn’t have the patience for his
nonsense.
Caroline spotted the cops giving the order to unlock the operating room. With teary eyes, she made a move to block the entrance. “Carson is in the middle of surgery. You can’t just barge in!”
She nailed me with a malice look. “Grace, how can you be so heartless? If something goes wrong with Carson, you’ll regret it!”
The cops didn’t buy her drama and pushed the door open anyway.
There was Mollie, lying still on the operating table, with the doctor’s scalpel, all sharp and shiny, already slicing into her flank.
