I gently declined Antonio, and his expression darkened. He went out again, brought in a piece of cake, and placed it on the bedside table.

In the early morning, my stomach started to growl.
As I got up quietly to get some water, I saw the faint light from his phone screen in the living room. The light shone on Antonio’s face as he typed. quickly with smiling eyes.
I suddenly remembered his refusal to wait with me for the New Year’s countdown, saying he never stayed up late, and my feelings for him faded even more. Instead of getting water, I turned back to my bedroom directly.
We were supposed to apply for our marriage certificates today. The moment I walked out of the bedroom. however, he was gone, leaving no explanation or message.
