Chapter 2
I wandered out of the house in a daze. The entire pack was celebrating Christmas, but I had nothing left.
Thoughts of the person who had come to my door the night before filled my mind, and a flicker of hope stirred in my chest.
I turned around, wanting to go back, but didn’t notice the person coming toward me.
“Ouch!”
I heard a soft cry, and Vivian fell to the ground.
A powerful shove came from behind, and I was knocked into the nearby small Christmas tree, crashing to the ground with

“Don’t you dare bully Auntie Vivian!”
Alpha Anderson helped Vivian up. “Are you alright?”
He turned to me, his eyes hard with anger. “You’ve gone too far. If you have a problem, take it up with me. Why are you taking it out on Vivian?”
I shook my head, trying to explain. “It wasn’t like that. I didn’t see her at the time, she bumped into me by accident.”
Vivian, being considerate, spoke up. “Yes, don’t blame Viya. It was all my fault for not
seeing the path ahead. If anyone should be blamed, it’s me.”
Alpha Anderson’s face softened with

concern. “You’re too kind. You’re still
defending this woman? If we hadn’t arrived when we did, who knows how badly she would’ve hurt you.”
Carol, standing beside him, chimed in. “Auntie Vivian, don’t be afraid. Carol will protect you. I’ll be the strongest Alpha in the Red Moon Pack, and I’ll make sure to chase away any bad people.”
Vivian smiled at his words, ruffling Carol’s hair. “I know, Carol. You’re the best.”
As I watched the warm scene unfold, it felt as though they were the real family, and I was nothing but an outsider. Evan worse, I was the “villain” in my own son’s eyes.
I couldn’t bring myself to give up. I reached out, “Carol, come with me. Everything Alpha Anderson can give you, I can too.”
Carol slapped my hand away, his sharp nails digging into my palm, leaving deep cuts. “Are you crazy? What nonsense are you talking? I’m going to be the future Alpha of this pack. What good would it do me to follow you? You want me to end up a rogue?”
Carol threw himself into Vivian’s arms. “Only someone as noble as Auntie Vivian deserves to be my mom. You, a worthless Omega, don’t deserve it!”
His words were like countless sharp needles piercing my heart.
My wolf, Lucy, cried out in agony. “Moon Goddess, what did we do wrong? Why do they treat us like this?”
Alpha Anderson’s gaze was laced with mockery. “Stop embarrassing yourself. If you

have any sense, you’ll leave on your own.
Otherwise, I won’t hesitate to use any means necessary to have you thrown out of the Red Moon Pack.”
On this Christmas Day, I received a gift that would haunt me forever.
My Alpha told me to leave, and my son no longer recognized me as his mother.
