“I told you, I didn’t do it!” Catherine denied it.
At first, when she was taken here from the hotel, she was calm because she was innocent and believed the police would bring her justice.
After listening to their conversation, however, she realized that everything was a setup!
“This is not for you to decide. Evidence is all we talk about here,” the interrogator said sternly.
Priscilla smiled smugly. “I have evidence.”
She handed over a stack of newly printed sultry photos to the interrogator. “Here you go.”
Catherine’s expression changed when she saw those photos.
Those photos were taken just a while ago. Priscilla’s men had barged into the room and held Catherine down before stripping her clothes off!
Priscilla took out a property transfer agreement. “Here’s the property transfer agreement. She tricked my husband into devising it for her. Someone will bring over the original signed agreement later.”
Hera had brought up that matter to Catherine before, but Hera didn’t sign the agreement! How could Priscilla use it to her advantage right now?
Catherine suddenly suspected the reason for Augustus’ visit to the clinic. Did he do that on purpose?
Even today, although they had promised to meet up at Grace Hotel, he never showed up! Then, Priscilla’s men forcefully held her down.
If it weren’t for Augustus, who needed Catherine to pass an important document to Hera, Catherine wouldn’t have gone there!
In the end, it was a trap!
The interrogator pored over the photos and agreement before looking at Catherine seriously. “Catherine Youngworth, the evidence is in my hands. What else is there for you to say?”
“I guess it’s easy to falsely accuse someone.” Catherina suddenly let out a helpless smile.
She looked at Priscilla and said gently, “It’s been decades. Times have changed, but you’re still the same as you were that year. You haven’t changed one bit. What’s the point of harming me this way? The Chime family is already yours.
“Alternative medicine has nothing to do with your modern medicine, no? Can’t we just live in peace?”
She didn’t wish to see things get out of control. She was afraid that she would be used by the other party to harm
Hera.
However, those words not only failed to comfort Priscilla but also fanned the flame of jealousy in her.
Indeed, it had been decades. If only Marcus was willing to try harder, Priscilla would’ve been able to welcome her grandchild. Also, Augustus just couldn’t forget about Catherine!
He still had lingering feelings for her!
And that made Priscilla feel like a joke. She was Mrs. Chime Senior in name and enjoyed the privilege as the lady of the house, but she still wasn’t the person Augustus held dearly as of today.
“Live in peace? Look at what you and your bitchy granddaughter have done to us! As long as you guys are in Jedburgh, there will never be peace in my home!”
Priscilla turned to the interrogator. “Stop wasting time with her. Start with the procedure.”
Augustus didn’t know about this matter. She had to close the case before he came over!
The interrogator understood and said to Catherine, “Catherine Youngworth, since you’re not denying it, I’ll take it as you’re admitting to your crimes. Sign your name on this testimony.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the door was opened. An officer led Hera into the room.
“Herie…” Catherine felt sorry to see Hera. She had never wanted to cause Hera trouble.
Yet, in the end, she still troubled Hera.
“Grandma, are you alright?” Hera came forward to check on Catherine.
When she noticed that Catherine’s clothes were disheveled, her expression turned cold. “Who did this?”
“I’m fine.” Catherine shook her head.
The interrogator felt a bit nervous upon seeing Hera because he had heard how difficult it was to handle cases involving Hera from his colleagues. Even Brandon was under investigation because of her.
But when he thought about it, Brandon sided with the Gaskell family back then. Unlike Brandon, he was siding with the Chime family, which was one of the four influential families.
The Chime family and the Gaskell family were of a different league. Besides, his chief was a distant relative of Priscilla.
