But Rhett wasn’t afraid of Hera. Once someone was in his hands, they wouldn’t escape his control.
Rachel was in disbelief. “Mr. Rhett…”
“Scram!” Rhett snapped.
Rachel realized Rhett was serious and glared at Hera sinisterly.
Hera, however, was indifferent. She turned to enter the courtyard and followed Rhett into the study.
“This is the contract. You can take a look first,” Rhett said bluntly, pulling three contracts from a drawer and handing them to Hera.
Hera set them aside. “Tell me what you know first.”
Rhett looked at her arrogant attitude, and for a split second, felt an overwhelming urge to kill her. But he knew better than to let his emotions take control of him.
He took a sip of tea and forced down his thoughts before saying calmly, “Chad forbade us from talking about Lucius. But since you’re Daphne’s daughter, and considering our relationship, I’ll make an exception and tell you. But you must never speak of it to anyone else.”
Hera watched his feigned sincerity coldly. “Continue.”
Rhett’s brows twitched, but he continued, “Daphne’s death wasn’t an accident. She was murdered, but it was made to look like an accident.” Hera hadn’t expected him to be so blunt. Before this, the Killians and the police had both insisted that Daphne died in an accident.
Her eyes narrowed. “Who ordered it?”
Rhett announced, “Astral Nova.”
Hera fell silent.
“I’m not sure how much you know about them. From what I’ve heard, they’re extremely strict, and their methods are brutal. Any member who defies the organization is swiftly dealt with, and their deaths are made to look like an accident.”
Rhett lit a cigar and took a slow drag before continuing, “As far as I know, Daphne once worked for Astral Nova. But don’t know what exactly she did. If it hadn’t been for her accident, we wouldn’t have even known that she worked for them.

“After her car accident, people from Astral Nova searched the place you used to live in, claiming they were looking for something. It wasn’t a pleasant situation. But in the end, they didn’t find what they were searching for. So, I suspect they orchestrated Daphne’s accident.”
He feigned sadness and sighed. “Lucius and I share the same mother, and we were very close. After his accident and then
Daphne’s, I tried to get Chad to hold Astra Nova accountable. But they’re powerful and ruthless. Even the Killians are wary of them. So, Chad ordered us never to mention this again.”
He spoke with such sincerity that if Hera hadn’t heard the recording of him hiring a hitman, she might have believed him.

Hera sneered, “Is that all?”
Rhett shrugged. “That’s all I know. Just make sure you don’t tell anyone I told you.”
Hera pushed the contracts back toward him. “What you just told me isn’t enough to make me want to cooperate with you.”
Rhett seemed to anticipate her reaction. He pulled out two more items from the drawer and placed them in front of Hera. “Don’t be so quick to refuse. Take a look at these two things first.”
