Chapter 450
Aurora lay weakly on the bed. When she saw Hera frowning, she couldn’t help feeling anxious again. “Is my child alright?” she nervously asked.
Catherine stopped the bleeding for her earlier. Then, she told Aurora not to worry and to wait for Hera before preparing the medicine in the kitchen.
“Did you really take the pills I gave you in time?” Hera coldly asked.
When Aurora noticed how Hera wasn’t answering her question, she suddenly had a bad feeling and hurriedly sat up. “Yes! My stomach only started hurting after I took the pills!”
“Give me the rest of the pills,” Hera said while wiping her hands.
Xeno hurriedly grabbed the small bottle from the bedside table and handed it to Hera. “I’ve been keeping the pills carefully all this while. No one knows about them other than the two of us!”
Basically, he was saying that no one would’ve swapped out the pills at all.
“You better have a good reason for this and save my child. Otherwise, I’ll make sure you enter the grave with my child!” Aurora warned with her pale lips.
Hera calmly put on a pair of gloves as if she didn’t hear anything at all. Then, she accepted the bottle and took out a pill.
She pinched it hard until it became dust and smelled it. After that, she placed it aside on a clean piece of napkin before taking another pill out to smell it as well.
“These aren’t the pills I gave you.” She said with full certainty. “They’re made the same way as Camille’s so-called Divine Medicine and have the same ingredients.”
When Xeno heard that, he felt numb and wondered when the pills were swapped. He also saw the test results Jamie brought and was certain that the pills were fine. He couldn’t understand why the pills were suddenly deadly at that moment.
Aurora’s mind went blank, and she hurriedly yelled, “Impossible! These are the pills you gave me!”
“Since we had a deal, why would I give you the wrong pills?” Hera asked.
Aurora thought about Hera’s motives, and her eyes turned red. “You did this on purpose to harm my baby! I’m going to kill you! Ah!”
Then, she started screaming and got up to strangle Hera. She didn’t care about how weak she was at all. Hera took a step back. Meanwhile, Xeno was worried Aurora might fall, and he hurriedly held her.
When Karen and Linda heard the commotion, they barged into the room immediately. “What’s wrong, Aury?”
When Karen saw how Aurora was struggling to fight Hera, she yelled, “Someone grab her!”
The maids outside hurriedly rushed in. Before they could get close to Hera, she coldly said, “Keep this up, and you won’t get to keep the child anymore!”
When Aurora heard that, she didn’t dare to move immediately. Then, she touched her stomach and said emotionally, “Oh, my baby is still here!”
Xeno hurriedly helped her get back on the bed, and Karen comforted Aurora. When Linda saw what was happening, her gaze flashed with an evil look.
At that moment, she didn’t know if the child in Aurora’s belly was fortunate or if Hera and Catherine were great doctors. Meanwhile, the maids that rushed in didn’t know if they should grab Hera.
“What in the world is going on?” Karen asked fiercely.
“Someone swapped the pills Dr. Shadow gave Aury,” Xeno answered honestly.
She saw the pills that turned to dust on the table and looked at Hera again. Fear flashed through her eyes for a split second.
“Are you sure the pills were swapped? Are you certain someone didn’t give her the wrong pills from the beginning to kill her and the Killians’ heir?” After Linda said that, she immediately instructed the maids,” What are you waiting for? Grab that culprit right now!”
Just as the maids were about to move, Hera shot them a cold gaze, and they didn’t dare to move again. If they were told to grab someone else, they would’ve done it already.
However, that was Dr. Shadow, and she was Bernard’s woman!
