The two of them sat face-to-face, and it felt awkward. Xavier said something first. “Why didn’t you tell me when you couldn’t hear a thing?” Yvette kept her head down, and she looked like she was in a daze. “I thought my hearing would get better when I got home.”
He held up his hand to touch her, but she avoided him. Xavier’s hand froze in mid-air, and he asked, “Who were you with today, Yvvy?” Yvette was stunned, and she looked up at him. “Did you send someone to follow me again?”
That was what he had loved to do before he had lost his memories.
He was stunned because he didn’t understand what she meant by “again”. He didn’t know when he had ever sent someone to follow her.
Before he could explain himself, the door to Viola’s room opened, and the doctor came out. He said Viola had been too agitated and fainted. She wasn’t in any danger, but she had to stay calm in the future.
Mark came out as well and looked at Yvette. His gaze was cold when he thought about what he had seen that day. Since Xavier was there, he didn’t dare to say anything to Yvette.
“We’re heading back now, Mr. Lane.”
“Sure.”
Then, Mark left with the doctor, leaving Yvette and Xavier alone there.
“Thank you for bringing me home today and calling a doctor to treat Viola,” Yvette said. Xavier tightened his grip on Yvette. “What about you?”
“I need to take care of Viola.”
He could feel his heart breaking, and he suddenly asked, “Yvvy, did you marry me out of love?”
From what he could remember, Yvette loved him a lot, and she would never break his heart.
She couldn’t answer his question. At first, she had also thought that she loved him. However, she had realized that she had gotten the wrong person.
It was so quiet in the house that Xavier couldn’t take it anymore. He pulled her into his embrace. “You’re sending me back because of Claude, aren’t you?” His voice had turned hoarse.

If he didn’t love Yvette, why would he only remember her after losing his memories? If he didn’t love her, why would he stay there willingly? If he didn’t love her, why would he tolerate her over and over again?
“In that case, we’ll talk about it when I’ve recovered my memories.” Xavier was determined to stay, and Yvette knew she couldn’t kick him out by force. So, they just had to take one step at a time.

Yvette’s heart skipped a beat, but she looked calm. “Can I help you, Madam Yara?”
Yara was furious when she heard Yvette calling her that. She thought Yvette was being ungrateful.
