He noticed Jeremiah didn’t have any reaction at all. Even though the latter was impersonating Xavier, Zachary could tell the man in front of him wasn’t Xavier at all.
When Jeremiah heard Zachary’s last name, his pupils constricted a little. He didn’t ask about Zachary anymore. The latter looked at him innocently. “Mister, have we met before?”
Jeremiah didn’t refute. “I don’t remember.”
“Mister, you have a terrible memory. Make sure you don’t let anyone find out about it.” Zachary was secretly implying something else.
Jeremiah was surprised for a split second, but that feeling disappeared in an instant. After all, Zachary was just a kid; he figured the child wouldn’t be up to something. Why are you so afraid of your uncle?” Malcolm immediately blushed in embarrassment. “Nonsense! I’m not afraid of him. My mom said that he’s not up for the task, and I’ll even have to take care of him in the future.”
