Chapter 50
Richard froze. His face went pale as he grabbed the envelope with trembling hands. The man tore it open and stared at the divorce agreement. His fingers turned white from gripping the paper too tightly.
His mind went completely blank.
No. It wasn’t possible. Harriet was his wife of ten years. She was the woman who silently helped him weather every storm, even after he lost his memory. Surely, she couldn’t have left him like this.
Every word on that paper stabbed into his chest like a knife.
“No… this isn’t real … ”
His voice shook as he spoke, “Harriet would never leave me ”

His forehead was soaked in cold sweat. His veins bulged as he slammed the document onto the table and stormed out.
Behind Richard, Emily’s shouts clearly rang out as she tried desperately to stop him. As for Bryan, the little boy just watched with his wide eyes. He was looking confused.
Yet, Richard didn’t look back once.
Richard had only one thought left. He needed to get to the airport quickly. After all, he needed to get me back.”

The car sped through the streets like lightning. Richard sat in the back, staring ahead like a man possessed. He yelled at the driver to go faster.
When the car screeched to a stop outside the airport, Richard didn’t wait for the door to open. He jumped out and ran straight inside. Panting, he stopped a staff member and grabbed his arm.
“Harriet Steinberg. Where is she? Which flight is she in?”
The staff member, startled by his urgency, hesitated before answering, “I–I need to check it first, Sir… ”
Richard clenched his fists, his eyes frantically scanning the hall.
Just then, an announcement rang out. The flight was ready for takeoff. Immediately, Richard’s heart dropped.
Richard then turned and sprinted toward the boarding gate, ignoring security, ignoring everyone. But when he arrived, the plane was already on the runway as it was slowly gaining speed. After that, the deafening roar of the engines filled the hall.
He could only stand there and watch as the plane took off, carrying Harriet away.
His lips trembled.)
Harriet… don’t go … ”
A sharp pain suddenly exploded in his head. He collapsed to his knees, clutching his skull. Soon enough, memories flooded in.
Harriet’s smile. Her laughter. Her quiet strength. The way she stood by him when the Ford Family was falling apart.
Everything came back and so did the truth. Richard had forgotten her. He had hurt her. He had let her be humiliated, insulted and betrayed. And now, she was gone.
By the time Richard lifted his head again, tears filled his eyes. Regret clung to him like a second skin. Just then, Harriet’s lawyer appeared beside him.
in a quiet voice, he said, “Mr. Ford Miss Steinberg has her own dreams.”
