Chapter 7
“We were worried that you would do anything stupid for Kiana, so we didn’t tell you about Kiana’s wedding.
“But I didn’t expect Kiana to sneak her way between you and Grace and cause you two to divorce.
“Grace is a good kid. We tried to talk her out of divorce, but she said you. didn’t deserve to be stuck with her forever just because of what you had done for her. You deserve a chance to choose your life and your wife, so she wants to free you.”
Hearing that, Antonio leaned against the wall and stared at the ceiling with sorrow, thinking, “It shouldn’t end this way.
“Grace and I didn’t divorce. We had a daughter who looked like her. We’d been married for 8 years…
“Grace and I won’t part ways. I’ve fixed my regrets. Now, I’ll get Grace
back!”
Antonio looked all day but still couldn’t find Grace. In the evening, he couldn’t help but go to Kiana’s place to ask her for an answer.
Downstairs, he heard an old man holding a birdcage speak to another person, “I saw that young girl tie the parrot to a bush. I thought she was abandoning it, so I asked if I could have it. However, she snapped that she would take it back and warned me not to take it away.
“When I went to take a look the next day, the parrot was gone. I didn’t. know if she had taken it back.”
Hearing that, Antonio stopped walking. “What does the girl look like?”
Chapter 7
“She looks kind, wearing a white dress. She lives in 902.”
Antonio turned angry and left right away. At that moment, he believed his parents‘ words about Kiana being a despicable person.
Antonio couldn’t believe that he had been hurting Grace for Kiana over the past 8 years. He even abandoned his family and came back to save Kiana.
When Antonio found me, I had just finished cleaning up my apartment.
He was thrilled to see me.
“Grace, I knew you wouldn’t leave. We’ll have another 8 years…”
I put down what was in my hands and took out a copy of the divorce. agreement.
“Antonio, we’ve divorced. I’ll leave here when I get the divorce certificate. Let’s just let each other go.
“You don’t owe me anything. I never blamed you. Instead, I’m grateful to you for saving me from the darkness.”
Antonio’s heart ached for my words.
He stared at me with a sorrowful look and shook his head repeatedly.
At that moment, I seemed to see the former Antonio.
Maybe because he had rid himself of the emotional baggage by changing Kiana’s life, he was way happier than before.
I almost forgot that he had come back from 8 years later.
Now, he reminded me of the former Antonio and the 8–year oppressive marriage.
Chapter
I noticed Antonio’s indifference to me long ago, but I’d been fooling myself and pretending to be loved.
I didn’t want to go back to that life again.
I wouldn’t put Antonio above anything else anymore. I wanted to live for myself.
“Antonio, our marriage ended the moment when our baby was gone.”
