The scarred luna’s rise from ashes Chapter 36

The scarred luna’s rise from ashes

C36
The meeting was long–too long. The discussions about amending the pack laws were dragging, with each council member expressing their views on the new set of beliefs I had proposed to improve the unity within the packs. But all I could hear was the distant murmuring of voices, my mind wandering elsewhere, a place it hadn’t
been in weeks.
The amendment of the pack laws was important, I knew that. It was necessary to solidify the strength of our territories to prevent uprisings and ensure peace between rival factions. But despite the weight of these issues, I couldn’t focus on them. My thoughts kept drifting to her–the woman I couldn’t have. Mauve.
*King Elias, what do you think about this proposal?” A voice jolted me from my reverie. The council’s eyes were
all on me, waiting for my response.
I blinked, gathering myself. “It seems fair,” I muttered, offering the first answer that came to mind. They seemed
satisfied.
But I wasn’t.

With a curt nod, I stood up abruptly. “This meeting is adjourned,” I declared, leaving the room without a second
glance.
I stormed into my study, slamming the door behind me. Groaning heavily, I reached for a bottle of whiskey from the cabinet. I poured myself a glass, not bothering to measure it. I needed something to drown the thoughts swirling
the concisot pull of Mauva’e sheanca
Two weeks. It had been over two fucking weeks since she left, and every moment had been agony. The day she vanished felt like it had happened just yesterday She had left without a word, just gone. It was like waking up in a nightmare, one I couldn’t escape from. I had ordered my men to search for her immediately. The moment they found her, I knew she had gone to Shadowfang. It was her old pack. She had nowhere else to go.
I had instructed my Beta to check in with me once they confirmed her location. They reported back quickly, just as I had expected. But when my Beta asked if we should go after her, I had made a decision I didn’t quite understand myself
“No,” I had told him “Let her be alone for now. I’ll give her space. She needs time to think. But I won’t let her be gone forever. She’s my mate, along with Magnolia.”

There was silence on the other end of the line, a pause before my Beta spoke again. “And what does Luna Queen Magnolia think about this?” His voice was cautious, knowing the delicate balance of power in my relationships.
I had thought about it, weighing the words carefully before I spoke. *She wants me to go after Mauve. To bring her back to the palace, because that’s the right thing to do. Twins always share a mate, and Mauve has a right to me just as Magnolia does.”
But deep down, I knew that wasn’t the whole truth. Magnolia had always said that, but there was a discomfort I could feel through our bond. A subtle unease that lingered whenever she spoke of Mauve. I didn’t know what to make of it. Magnolia had her own insecurities, and I understood them. But this was different.
Even now, as I sat in my study with a glass of whiskey in hand, Mauve was all I could think about. She was a constant presence in my mind–before I went to bed, after I woke up, even when I shared intimate moments with
Magnolia. It wasn’t fair to Magnolia, I knew that, but my wolf wanted Mauve. And my wolf could sense that Mauve
wanted us too
I had done something I never thought I would–kept tabs on Mauve. I knew it made me look like a creepy stalker, but I couldn’t rest, couldn’t find peace, not knowing what she was doing, where she was, or if she was truly okay
Then, as if the universe wanted to remind me of her existence, a scout entered my study, bowing politely.
“Your Majesty,” the scout said. “I have news for you.”
I looked up, my mind already on Mauve “Speak.”
“I found out that Luna Mauve is marrying today,” the scout reported.
Marrying? Today? My mind went numb for a moment before the words hit me. I felt my heart tighten, then rage surged through my veins. I stood up so quickly that my chair tipped over, but I didn’t care.
I didn’t have to ask where the fucking wedding was. It was at the Shadowfang, of course.
