Selena’s POV
The next day was the Blood Moon festival, and all the pack members were going to be present for it. Two hours before the
festival, Zane had come to meet me in the guestroom where I had spent the night. He was holding a garment bag.
“Hey, so I got you this for the festival.” He said, handing me the bag.
At first, I was almost grateful. Until I saw that it was yet another thing that belonged. to Linda. A yellow dress with frayed edges, and it was most definitely not my size. I gave him a flat stare and thrust it back to him with a cold look.
“I don’t want it.” I said coldly.
He sneered in annoyance. “You are so ungrateful!” He barked and stormed out
in anger.

I shook my head in resignation as I stared after him. When it was time to leave for the festival, I put on my best dress, and put on makeup. I gave myself a small smile in the mirror because I knew I looked good.
As I stepped out, Zane was on his knees, helping Linda attach the strap of her fancy sandals. He had bought her a new dress, and had come to give me one of her old
dresses. I almost scoffed.
When he glanced at me, his mouth fell open in shock and amazement, and he quickly stood up staring at me,
momentarily forgetting about Linda. She didn’t look too pleased.
“Sel-” He murmured with a dazed look
on his face, but I walked by him, completely ignoring him.
I didn’t wait for them; instead I took a ride from a pack member who was passing by.
At the festival, the pack members kept

giving Zane and Linda suspicious looks at the way they acted around each other. Finally, one of the pack members approached me hesitantly.
“Luna Selena, I don‘ t know if you‘ ve noticed or heard, but there have been rumours of an affair between your mate and that omega.” She said.
I gave her a warm smile and shrugged. “It doesn’t matter. I really don‘ t care.”
She gave me a surprised look before she nodded and walked off in shock.
Meanwhile, Zane was oblivious to the strange looks he was getting concerning the attention he was paying to Linda, while Linda was obviously enjoying the attention she was getting from Zane and the pack members because she kept throwing herself at Zane.
When it was time for the slow dance, Zane began looking for me. It was a tradition for the Alpha and the Luna of the pack to open

“Selena! Where have you been?!” He asked, releasing a deep breath when he

Zane’s eyes blazed in anger, and he snapped. “What is your problem?!” He yelled, drawing the attention of many pack members to us.
I scoffed incredulously. “My problem? Don’t stand there and pretend like you don’t know what my problem is!” I retorted.
He growled. “If this is about Linda, then you’re such an insecure woman.” He replied. I could hear the pack members murmuring among themselves. “Because there is nothing going on between us. I have told you over and over again that I’m just trying to help her!”
I gave him a cold look, “I’m not stupid, Zane. I know that it was Linda‘ s bra on the bed yesterday.”
The pack members around gasped in shock at my words.
Zane’s eyes widened, and he spluttered in

“If you leave without doing this dance, I will reject you.” He blurted out after me.
