Freya found herself in a bind. Unable to risk offending the influential figures surrounding her, she felt compelled to simply go along with the prevailing current.

Alexander, who had remained silent until now, turned his gaze towards Freya. She was shielded behind Nathaniel, reminiscent of a chick seeking protection behind a mother hen. He offered a simple smile and said, “I’ve heard that Ms. Gomez is a renowned figure in the design world. I’m quite eager to see what you have to offer us.”
Freya studied Alexander’s composed and confident demeanor. Had she not previously experienced his underhanded tactics, she might have been deceived by his polished exterior.

He met Nathaniel’s gaze head–on, a glint of icy resolve flickering in his eyes. He forced a smile and said, “Thank you, Mr. Morgan. My time in Europe was… exceptional. It couldn’t have been better.”

Freya trailed him out of the VIP lounge, heading towards the exhibition center’s largest hall. For now, he was her boss, and she had no choice but to follow his lead.
Jacob’s expression darkened considerably. He clenched his coffee cup, but didn’t take a sip.

He took a sip of his coffee and said, “No one knows Nathaniel Morgan better than I do. If you want to handle him, just follow my lead. Don’t concern yourself with the minutiae.”
“You already control more than half of Saeville. The artificial island is mine. As for the bidding, it’s not that significant. Even with your imported designer, they won’t hold a candle to Freya Gomez. Not three years ago, and certainly not now.”
