Chapter 8
I looked away, not daring to meet his gaze somehow. “What’s wrong?” I asked.
I wanted to make sure that I got a divorce, or I wouldn’t have reached out to Leroy at all.
Back when we were in high school, he was utterly aloof and proud. He wore the same hoodie for three years till it faded, and he treated everyone with equal indifference.
My grades weren’t great, which was probably why the teacher asked me to be Leroy’s deskmate. Gradually, I started to have a crush on him.
He was always so distant; every time I wanted to talk to him, he’d frown slightly and ask me to be quiet.
We weren’t exactly close, and after graduating, we completely lost touch.
After a few seconds of silence, he said, “Nothing. Leave it to me. Let me know if you have any questions.”
I nodded, stood up, and turned to leave.
Leroy stared at my retreating figure even after my figure disappeared from his sight.
As soon as I got home, I saw a familiar figure at the door.
Antonio was still wearing the wedding suit. When he saw me, he was stunned.

Chapter 8
In the next second, his eyes sparkled with unprecedented excitement. “Grace, when did your legs recover? You can stand?”
His gaze fell on my flat abdomen, and his face turned pale.
He grabbed my arm and asked in disbelief, “Where’s the baby?”
I pried his hands away.
Looking at his hypocritical face, I said sarcastically, “When did I ever have a baby? It was your baby with Pearl, right?”
He panicked completely, realizing I had known everything. He felt like he had so many things to say to me, but he didn’t know where to begin. After quite some time, he parted his lips, muttering, “I’m sorry, Grace… I’m such a jerk.”
His apology annoyed me. He had hurt me so much; did he really think he could make that all go away by saying he was sorry?
The sight of him actually disgusted me.
I said, “I’ve asked a lawyer to take care of the divorce. If you refuse to get a divorce, see you in court.”
With that, I opened the door and stepped inside.
Just as I sat on the couch, my friend sent me a video.
The video showed that Pearl wanted to leave the wedding venue when the hotel staff stopped her and asked her to pay for the wedding.
Chapter 8
1288 Vouchers.
She scolded them angrily, “Do you have any idea who’s my husband? Seriously? Do you think I can’t afford this? How short–sighted. You’re doomed to be wage slaves forever!”
Then she tossed them a bank card.
I sneered. Pearl must have forgotten that it was my marital property with Antonio, and I could reclaim the money.
I called Leroy and told him about this.
He was very efficient; soon, the court asked Pearl to return the money.
She had always been a big spender and had already spent almost all the money Antonio had given her.
So, she could only borrow from her parents and relatives.
Yet, her relatives mocked her, “You’re such a liar. You even lied to us about you having a car accident. What a shameless homewrecker. We want nothing to do with you.
“You sold your body out for money, right? Go on then. We don’t have any money.”
I had foreseen she’d go to them, so, before she called, I had already had someone “accidentally” tell them everything.
Pearl was utterly frightened. None of them would lend her money, and out of desperation, she called me.
