Chapter 210
I said, “Joshua, a broken mirror can’t be mended. Don’t you know that? We can’t go back. I can’t forgive what you did. Besides, I don’t
love you anymore.“}
“You don’t love me? Then who do you love? Shawn? He’s your brother!” Joshua’s eyes widened in fury, the rage in them so intense it felt like he wanted to burn me alive.
I gave him a small smile. “Sorry, but he’s not my brother anymore. I’m Sierra Salvatore now.“>
“Evelyn! So, you faked your death and changed your identity, just to be with Shawn? Do you even realize what you’re doing? Have you lost your mind? Shawn, he … “D
Looking at Joshua’s near–manic expression, I suddenly found it amusing. He was filled with regret. He was in unbearable pain, but no matter what, there was no going back for us. I gently brushed his hand away, my smile light and effortless. “I’m really sorry, Joshua, but Shawn is not my biological brother. The Sutherland Family adopted me.“}
Joshua was speechless. His eyes widened in shock as if he had just heard something earth–shattering. He stared at me, utterly stunned, unable to process what I’d just said.
“Sierra, where did you go? Sierra! Sierra, where are you?” Shawn’s voice came from a distance. He was looking for me.
I pursed my lips and gave Joshua a meaningful glance before saying, “My husband is looking for me. I should go. As for you, I suggest you let go as soon as possible. Like I said, there’s no future for us.” After that, I turned and walked away.}
“Husband? Haha.” Joshua chuckled behind me, but I ignored him.
As soon as I stepped outside, I met Shawn’s concerned gaze. “What’s going on? Why did you come here?” He grabbed my shoulders, carefully looking me up and down. He only relaxed once he confirmed I was unharmed.
I tilted my head up and gave him a light smile. “It’s nothing. Don’t worry about me.“}]
“That’s good.” Shawn didn’t press further.}
I didn’t want to tell him that Joshua had chased me here. It wasn’t that big of a deal anyway and it didn’t affect our life together. Hand in hand, I smiled as we walked back to the restaurant. No one noticed the crazed look in Joshua’s eyes as he stared at us from behind.
