Chapter 13!!
I would never forget how he’d scolded me so coldly, nor the images that haunted me of him with other women, his passion reserved for them.
This was it. It had to end with my leaving.
I tugged at Fiona, trying to pull her away, but Sebastian crawled to my feet, his fingers gripping my pants leg like a lifeline. His voice trembled with desperation, the agony clear in every word.
“Brianna, please.. don’t leave me. I swear, fill never betray you again. I know what I did can’t be forgiven, but I’ve always loved you. I never wanted anyone else. Please, don’t go
I couldn’t pull my foot free and Fiona, growing impatient, grabbed a chair, raising it to strike him.
Sebastian didn’t flinch. He took the hit, blood pouring from his mouth, yet he refused to release his grip on me.
Exasperation surged within me.X
When Fiona raised the chair again, I stopped her, my hand on her arm, not wanting this madness to escalate further
Sebastian’s eyes gleamed with a flicker of hope
“Brianna, I knew you still loved me.. you couldn’t bear to see me hurt…”
I looked down at him, coldness in my gaze
“Sebastian, I’m happy without you. Don’t disgust me. Don’t ruin my happiness.”
“Please… I beg you.
His voice was broken, pleading.
I gave him one last glance, the chill of indifference settling over me. His gaze met mine for a fleeting g moment, but as soon as he saw the emptiness in my eyes, his dropped in defeat
And then, slowly, his hands loosened.
“Okay…”
The word came out faint, almost as though it drained the last bit of life from him. He collapsed onto the ground, sobbing uncontrollably.
Curious onlookers began to gather, drawn by the commotion, Fiona, ever quick to seize an opportunity, shouted at the top of her lungs, branding him the “Second Personality Scumbag who had recently made waves online
Instantly, a chorus of curses erupted from the crowd, all agreeing he deserved every bit of it.
Without a second thought, Fiona and I tumed and walked away, leaving him behind.
One person, unable to contain their curiosity, called out to him.
“Why go through all this when it’s already too late?
He didn’t even try to cry anymore. Instead, his gaze lifted slowly and with a voice barely above a whisper, he muttered toward my retreating back, “Brianna, Im sorry…”
But little did he know I didn’t need his apology. What I truly needed was for him to be honest with himself.
