His eyes rolled up into his head. The EMTs loaded him into the ambulance. I ran to my car and put the key in the ignition. I waited until they closed the doors and pulled away from the curb, and I followed them for as long as I was able to before they sped out of sight.
I pulled out my phone. “Call Dylan,” I said into it.
The phone rang twice before he answered. “Hazel?” He asked, puzzled.
“Dylan, I’m so sorry to bother you. But Logan…” my lips started quivering and tears began falling down my

The phone rang several times then went to voicemail. I tried again. It only rang a couple times before it. went to voicemail that time.
“That bitch sent me to voicemail,” I muttered to myself. I waited for the beep to leave a message. Natalie. You have done some shit things but this is a new low for you. You’re lucky he’s going to be okay. You could have killed him, do you realize that? All because you are a self–absorbed, stupid–ass…”

The voicemail beeped again, cutting me off. I thought about leaving a follow up voicemail, but decided she would get the gist from the first one.
“Call dad,” I said instead. That one also went to voicemail. “Hey dad. Ask your favorite daughter why some of your sleeping pills are missing. Here’s a hint: you can find them in the wine glass in the living room, what’s left of it anyway, since luckily her new husband didn’t drink the entire cocktail she made for him.”
The voicemail beeped and the call ended. I felt quite a bit better after that one.
I pulled into the hospital parking lot and followed the signs to the emergency room. I checked in with the front desk, and the clerk had me sit in the waiting room while Logan was back getting his stomach pumped.
The waiting room was only about half full, but I was too anxious to sit in one of the empty chairs. I walked over to a spot that was pretty empty and began pacing in front of those chairs.
“Oh, Hazel,” a male voice said. I turned to see Dylan walking swiftly towards me. I ran over to him and wrapped my arms around his waist. He put his around my shoulders and I began to sob into the front of has t–shirt.
He rested his head on top of mine. “Hey, it’s okay. The clerk told me he’s going to be okay.”
