The guy’s curiosity was piqued, and he turned to ask his buddies what it was about.

Aiden raised his voice to stop them. “Enough, let’s drop this topic. From now on, keep your mouths shut, got it?”

Aiden sobered up considerably and stood up straight, clearing his throat to mask his embarrassment. He then asked Lysander. “Did you come here to play pool or to find someone?”

He was fully aware of everything that transpired between these two, hoping he wouldn’t get caught in the

However, Josiah seemed oblivious to the exchange between Aiden and Lysander. He didn’t even lift his head as he spoke to the girl. “Try again.”
The girl felt a bit embarrassed. “How about you go about your business? I’ll go practice on another pool
table.
“What’s the matter? Don’t you want to learn from me?”
The girl’s attention was instantly drawn back by his gentle tone. “I do.”
His voice grew increasingly gentle as he said, “Let’s carry on then. I’ll be right here for you. You need to be confident in yourself.”
“But I think that lady wants to talk to you…” the girl said, hesitating.
Josiah pointed at the center of the white ball. “Look, aim here.”
The girl glanced at Lysander, a bit flustered. “O–Okay.”
The atmosphere fell eerily silent, with only the crisp sound of the cue striking the balls filling the air.
Zane was right. Josiah didn’t want to see her.
However, since she was here asking for a favor/she took the initiative to break the silence.
Raising her voice, she said, “Josiah, let’s have a talk.”

Josiah, boiding the cue, finally paused in his tracks. He glanced at Zane, seemingly understanding why Lysander knew he was here. Then, he let out a cold chuckle. “Looks like you have nothing better to do.”
Zane knew he had been caught red–handed. With a troubled look on his face, he turned toward Lysander, seeming to say there was nothing else he could do.
Lysander said, “It’s okay. Since Mr. Guerra’s busy, I’ll wait nearby. We can talk once he’s done.”
Having said that, she made her way to the booth that Zane had mentioned and sat down.
However, she hadn’t expected that she would end up waiting for more than five hours.
Zane made his way over to her, pretending to bring her a drink as he quietly asked, “Are you still waiting?
Lysander nodded in determination.
Zane let out a sigh. “All right then.”
She waited from evening to midnight, and then from midnight to the early hours of the morning. The patrons of the club came and went, yet Josiah still disregarded her, focused on teaching the girl how to play pool.
Lysander glanced at the time, which was already past two in the morning
Today, Josiah was dressed in a white shirt, its sleeves rolled up to his elbows. When he bent over to strike the ball, the shirt clung tightly to his back, and she could see another layer of fabric underneath.

She stood up and walked over again.
This time, it was the girl who spotted her first. She paused, signaling to Josiah that Lysander was behind
him.
Josiah turned and looked back. “Why are you still here? I thought you had left a long time ago.”
Lysander spoke softly. “I must advise you that since your back injury hasn’t fully healed, it’s best to avoid. any vigorous movements during this period. Try not to bend over too much when playing pool. If your wound reopens, the subsequent treatment will be a hassle.”
Josiah straightened his back, finally giving her his full attention. His expression was intimidatingly his voice even frostier. “In what position are you speaking to me now?” he asked.
