As soon as Adrian walked away, the bearded man who had greeted him immediately hooked an arm around his shoulder. “Why haven’t I seen you
around lately?”
“I returned to my country.
“So, are you planning to stay in Stounia in the future or go back?”
“I’ve been planning to take a break for a while now.”
“Yeah, being a doctor is indeed tough. You should really take a good vacation.”
“That’s right.”
“Was that beautiful girl in the skirt just now your girlfriend?”
The two of them were walking and talking, their voices gradually fading into the distance. The wind was strong by the sea, preventing Lysander from hearing Adrian’s response.
However, she could vaguely see that he had shaken his head in denial.

Not far away, there suddenly came a burst of laughter and cheerful chatter.
Lysander turned her head, her gaze landing on an exceptionally attractive and intelligent–looking Aplothian woman who was surrounded by a crowd. Everyone around her was clapping their hands and congratulating her.
The woman hadn’t donned a wedding dress. She simply wore a white veil on her head.
Without a doubt, it was the bride.
She was unmistakably of Aplothian descent, yet her smile was radiant. Speaking in a flawless Stounian accent, she was in the midst of a conversation with her friends.
In Lysander’s opinion, the girl was tall and cheerful, a truly likable young lady.
It seemed she had sensed Lysander’s gaze and looked back at her. However, upon laying eyes on her for the first time, the bride was slightly taken aback, apparently a bit surprised.
Lysander gave her a nod, a smile gracing her features.

“Hello, you can call me Lysander. I’m Adrian’s friend, and it was he who brought me to attend your wedding.
The woman shook Lysander’s hand cheerfully. “I know. I’ve seen you before.”
“Have you seen ine before?”
“I have! There’s a large oil painting in the Sutton residence. I’ve seen it many times.”
Lysander was somewhat surprised. “But that’s just a silhouette…”
“Haha! I can recognize you by your silhouette.” The woman playfully winked at Lysander, who found the woman’s words rather cryptic.

Initially, Lysander was content with just enjoying the sea breeze on her own.
However, the bride was overly enthusiastic. Lysander couldn’t bear to reject the bride, so she found herself being pulled into the crowd by the bride.
“Girls, let me introduce someone to you all. This is Lysander, Adrian’s friend,” the bride said.
Perhaps it was just Lysander being overly sensitive, but the way the bride said the last word of the sentence was as if hinting at something. It was hard to ignore.
The surroundings were almost entirely filled with girls, who were instantly taken aback.
“It’s you!”
Lysander became even more bewildered. “Do you all know me?”
The bride spread her hands. “To be honest, everyone has been curious for a long time about who the girl in the oil painting at the Sutton residence is. However, he’s always been tight–lipped, not willing to say anything. For all these years, he’s really kept everyone in suspense.”
“Exactly! We’ve always been so curious. Just what kind of girl could hold such a special place in Adrian’s heart all these years?”
“Evidently, Adrian’s taste is still inclined toward the Aplothian style. No wonder Lucy couldn’t win him
over.
The bride chuckled. “Lucy? She nearly scared the life out of Adrian.”
