Lysander locked eyes with Josiah for a moment, then shifted her ze away continuing to look at
Lysanne.
Lysanne felt a shiver under Lysander’s gaze and made an excuse to leave. “Seeing that Dr. Thorne is all right, I can now rest easy. I’m feeling a bit dizzy…”
Howard supported her. “You should head back, too. You insisted on going today even when I tried to stop you, and you’re not even in good shape yourself

Lysanne had left.
Daphne crouched down, whispering into Lysander’s car, “This b*tch seems to have really been driven to the brink by the supposed ghost of Old Mrs. Guern. She even sought you out today and put in quit an effort.”

Lysander slowly blinked.
Daphine continued, “What that b*tch just mentioned was indeed true. At the time, the boats were nearly engulfed in a sea of flames. Josiah painstakingly searched through each and every boat. When
he finally carried you out, he himself was also severely burned.”

Josiah said, “She wants a cell phone.”

A cell phone was thrust into Lysander’s hand.
“She needed something to type on because she has something to say,” said Josiah. “Use mine first.”
Lysander held his phone, struggling to type in a few crucial words: Do my parents know?
Daphne immediately said, “Don’t worry, I didn’t tell them. I didn’t want them to worry.”
Lysander nodded.
“Looking at you now, it’s likely you won’t make it abroad. The doctor suggested that with your injuries, it’s best to rest and recuperate.”
After a brief pause, Lysander nodded and typed: You all should go back and rest first.
Daphne immediately objected, “No way, you’re injured like this. How can you be left alone? I’m staying with you.”
Lysander: I have a question for Josiah.
Daphne paused, “So, you’re saying I should step aside? Is that what you
mean?”
Lysander nodded again.
“All right.” Daphne stood up. “This time, it was indeed Josiah who saved you. You two should have a good chat. I won’t leave and will just be outside the door. If anything comes up, Josiah, you can call for
me.”
Josiah nodded. “All right.”
Daphne adjusted the blanket for Lysander, then turned to Howard and said, “Mr. Thorne, let me see you out.”
Howard asked Josiah to take good care of Lysander before departing with Daphne.
In the ward, Josiah and Lysander were the only ones left.
Josiah asked, “What do you want to ask me?”
Lysander typed: Did Zachary tell you?
