Freya couldn’t help but laugh.
How could she forget? That was just the kind of person Kieran was.
His heart belonged to Eloise, and he couldn’t care less about anyone else.
In her past life, Kieran had left her for dead in the hands of robbers, letting kidnappers torture her until her last breath. And now, in this life, he had tossed her to the police.

Picking herself up from the ground, clutching her bleeding wound, she said, “Alright then, I’ll play along with Mr. Sutton’s wishes. I’ll go down to the station for questioning. But if it turns out I’m innocent… Kieran, I want you on your knees apologizing to me.” Bearing the pain from her wound, Freya turned and started making her way out of the Dawson residence.
Once in the car, the pain all over her body was almost numbing.
The officer beside her didn’t seem to care about the wound on her arm, and to make matters worse, her hand, which had been bandaged earlier in the day, was starting to act up.
Looking at her sorry state, Freya could only scoff.

“Get out of the car!”
The officer’s tone was far from friendly.
They had seen plenty of rich folks acting out of line.
And having crossed Kieran, Freya was definitely not in for a treat here.
Stepping out of the car, the blood on her arm was beginning to dry, yet drops still oozed out. By the time she entered the interrogation room, Freya was as pale as a ghost. “Freya, where were you this afternoon?”
“At the hospital.”
“And after leaving the hospital?”
“Where did you go after leaving the hospital?”
“…I was at the Garcia’s.”
“At Mae’s place?”
“Yes.”
“Because earlier today, Mae, Cindy, and Miss Eloise had a confrontation with you at the library. So, you sought revenge by causing trouble at Miss Eloise’s house, correct?”
