“Jake, what are you doing?”
I looked at him, confused, and I thought of
everything.
But, he helped, so he doesn’t care about the
past, right?
“I might’ve given you a hard time, but my dad
paid you well! If you’re still mad, I’ll
apologize!”
Trying to keep everything down, I will just
have to end it so it can come out.
Jake got close.
“It was a pain, but…it was fun.”
I didn’t even know what to do.
“Are you gonna leave after you used me like
that?”
“I will remember you.”
I started to walk away.
Jake let it go. “You know, it was more than
that, but whatever. If something happens,
here’s my number.”
He opened the door, so I thanked him.
Jake could see what I was going to do, and
said: “Don’t forget, we have a common
enemy.”
I understand now.
Yes, enemy.
I went back to the house.
It’s not time for this.
In the morning, Tony was next to me.
“Jenny, I will get you up! We can go to the
park!”
It was back to before.
“Jenny, are you mad?” He gently rubbed my
hair.
I didn’t say anything.
He was the same as before.
“Remember when we met? At the park?”
It was coming back.
Tony, what is all this for?
I got up, and started leaving.
Tony called, so he left.
I thought about getting out, but the
bodyguard told me not to.
“The boss told you to wait for your safety.”
