The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet by Thalassa - Complete

Chapter 780
Thalassa had assumed David was about to bail, leaving her to face the inevitable tongue-lashing.
Yet, just as she had braced herself for what was to come, Lysander released her, their foreheads touching, his breath heavy and uneven, trying to regain composure.
Thalassa’s eyes were filled with tears, her mind spinning. She was forced to endure Lysander’s intense breathing, his large hand gently stroking her face as if trying to soothe his own flaring temper with the warmth of her skin.
David was the first to get off the car, silent, not even looking back. The less he knew about Mr. Sinclair’s private matters, the better.
Otherwise, he’d be the one to pay the price.
Having been at Lysander’s side for many years, David understood this principle all too well.
After a while, Lysander managed to rein in his intense reaction. He released Thalassa, and got out of the car.
Coming back to her senses, Thalassa hurriedly followed him.
Stepping out, she realized they were at a large mall.
Hadn’t David been driving according to the coordinates of her necklace? Why had they ended up at a mall?
Could her necklace be in the mall?
But she had lost it at the office.
Lysander glanced at her before heading into the mall.
Thalassa quickly followed.
Entering the mall, Thalassa immediately spotted four adorable little kids standing in front of a branded jewelry counter.
Who else could they be but her four little darlings?
They were speaking to a woman. Fitch stood guard behind them, carefully watching over but not interfering with the children’s conversation with the woman.
Upon closer inspection, Thalassa realized the woman was her coworker, Betty.
“Where did these kids come from, spouting nonsense?” Betty grumbled, holding a necklace in her hand, looking displeased at Sophia standing at her feet.
“I’m not spouting nonsense. The necklace you’re holding really belongs to my mom, so you can’t sell it.”
Sophia’s little face was serious as she raised her neck to look at Betty, her childish voice earnest.
She saw Thalassa wear the necklace every day; her mother must have loved it. Why was the necklace in someone else’s hands and about to be sold?
Betty’s face twitched slightly, a hint of guilt crossing her face. She had initially intended to lash out, but seeing the children, she feigned calmness and laughed, saying, “Little girl, you must be mistaken. This necklace is mine, not your mother’s. Perhaps your mother has one similar to mine.”
Sophia was just a child, so Betty could easily deceive her. Plus, the necklace belonged to Thalassa, who didn’t seem to be married. How could she have such a big child?
The child must have gotten it wrong.
Sophia frowned, stating solemnly, “I didn’t get it wrong; this is my mom’s necklace. My mom’s is genuine; there’s only one of this necklace, and there can’t be an identical one. Miss, don’t you agree?”
Sophia was a jewelry appraisal expert. She never made a mistake when making appraisals of jewelry.
She knew this necklace well as her mom wore it every day, and her brother Atticus had looked into the origins of the necklace. It was custom-made, and there was only one in the entire world.
The saleswoman smiled awkwardly and said, “Yes, there’s only one genuine piece of this necklace in the world. If there’s another identical one, it’s definitely a fake.”
“But mine isn’t fake; your mom’s is the fake one!” Hearing the saleswoman say that, Betty immediately panicked, hurriedly proving that the necklace in her hand was real.
She had come here today to sell the necklace and make some money. If it was declared as fake, how could she get any money? Just whose child was this, and why was she fixated on the necklace in her hand?
