She averted her gaze slightly, trying to change the subject.
Lysander’s deep-set eyes glanced at her foot, which was bandaged and resting on the bed.
“I see you’re still able to run around. It seems like it doesn’t hurt then.” Lysander’s voice was low and icy.
Thalassa understood the hidden meaning in his tone. David must have returned his money.
Was he upset about that?
He was a strange man. He was upset when he thought she had taken his money, and he was still upset when she returned it.
What did she have to do to please him?
“The billion wasn’t for Bruce. The situation is complicated, but in short, I’ve retrieved both the billion and that ten million. I also got back the three million from the sale of the circular pendant, which Bruce also swindled. Since you were unhappy when I asked for your account details, I transferred the money to David. It should be in the company’s account now, right?” Thalassa stated firmly.
Instead of being tormented by his cold demeanor, she decided to lay her cards on the table.
“And then?” Lysander stood by the bed. His deep gaze pierced into her like a hawk.
The immense pressure he exuded almost made it hard for Thalassa to breathe, but she held on.
“I wanted to tell you that Bruce and I did not conspire to take your money. I have no connection with him. You don’t need to vent your hatred for him on
me.”
Her beautiful eyes met his sincerely.
For the first time, she was laying everything out in front of him clearly and concisely.
Lysander’s aura grew colder by the second. His eyes had almost frozen over, like the plants in a forest in the dead of winter. His large hand suddenly gripped her chin, and he fired back at her with such a cold voice that he sounded like a demon from hell.
“So you think you can wash your hands of this? You’re really naive. You can never stay out of it, understand?”
His icy, angry breath hit Thalassa’s delicate face. All her senses were screaming for her to get away from the danger.
He meant that, as long as she had Bruce’s blood in her veins, he would never let her go.
“Lysander, you should let yourself go…”
“No! It’s you that I won’t let go of! You’ve angered me, and you know what price you should pay.” His voice was cold and suppressed. Suddenly, he sealed her lips with a harsh kiss.

She leaned her head back, letting out an involuntary whimper.
“We’re not using your foot.” Lysander’s heavy breath enveloped her neck.
The tickling sensation made her shudder as her grip on his shirt tightened.
The kids are still waiting for me…”
She was pleading with him. She had promised the kids that she would join them for dinner. She knew how energetic Lysander was. He could go all night. Lysander ignored her, punishing her with a bite on her earlobe.
“Ah!” Thalassa cried out in pain.
