Chapter 6 Stripped Clean
Winry’s face flushed. She feigned shyness as she covered her chest. “Mr. Jaywalker, you… you really are impatient.”
Michael couldn’t be bothered with idle chatter. He glanced at the butler beside him.
With a single gesture from Jorvan, two bodyguards immediately rushed forward, gripping Winry’s arms.
“M-Mr. Jaywalker?”
Before Winry could regain her composure, she was abruptly seized, causing her to pale in fear.
Startled, Caiden quickly approached and asked, “Mr. Jaywalker, what is this about…”
Jorvan said with a smirk, “Mr. Sommer, Ms. Winry doesn’t seem to understand the gravity of the situation. How could she casually wear the betrothal gift that Mr. Jaywalker personally picked out for the bride? Mr. Jaywalker intends to have her stripped of her clothes and jewelry.”
“Bride?” Caiden was taken aback. “Has Mr. Jaywalker already made his choice?”
Eunice was getting anxious. Isn’t this supposed to be a matchmaking session? How did Mr. Jaywalker make a decision without even meeting anyone?
Could he be captivated by Josephine’s face?
Michael looked around, his patience wearing thin as he failed to spot Josephine. “Where is she?”
“Who are you talking about?”
Caiden was still in a daze, but Eunice, who was next to him, had already caught the underlying message.
Michael wasn’t interested in Winry.
Ignoring Winry, Eunice quickly took Yves’ photo and approached with a warm smile on her face.
“Are you asking about Yves, Mr. Jaywalker? She’s currently overseas attending Fashion Week and can’t return just yet. You have quite a discerning eye, Mr. Jaywalker. Yves excels in music, chess, literature, and art. She’s respectful to her elders and has even studied home economics…”
Regrettably, before the photo could be handed over, Jorvan smiled politely and said, “You’ve made a mistake. Mr. Michael was asking about Josephine.”
The Sommers were utterly stunned.
It took Caiden a while to regain his composure.
Eunice’s body stiffened. The photo in her hand dropped to the ground before she could even hand it over.
Winry was the first to snap back to reality. She could hardly believe her ears. Seething with rage, she shrieked, “You can’t be serious! She’s a fool! Mr. Jaywalker must have made a mistake!”
Michael was leaning against the car. Upon hearing her words, he turned his head, giving her a glance with an expressionless face.
He didn’t like it when others called his bride a fool.
One glance was enough to send a chill down Winry’s spine, making her shudder in fear. She quickly closed her mouth.
His gaze was chilling to the core, filled with an overwhelming aura of dominance.
Fortunately, in the next moment, Michael withdrew his gaze.
He lit a cigarette and leaned against the car door. As he took a puff, he called out, “Jorvan.”
With every movement, he exuded an effortless elegance and nonchalance, reminiscent of a carefree nobleman. The sight made Winry’s breath quicken.
He’s so handsome!
Jorvan hurriedly stepped forward. “What can I do for you, Mr. Jaywalker?”
Michael tilted his head, glancing at Winry.
Understanding what he meant, Jorvan turned around and signaled to the bodyguards.
Two female bodyguards bowed slightly before stepping forward. They roughly seized Winry and began to strip off her dress.
“No!”
Winry was terrified. She attempted to struggle but was firmly restrained by the two female bodyguards.
They showed no mercy, quickly removing her dress within moments. Then, they unclasped the Ocean’s Heart necklace from around her neck and respectfully handed it to Michael.
“Sterilize it,” Michael ordered indifferently.
The events unfolded so rapidly and with such a dramatic turn that many in the vicinity struggled to comprehend what had just transpired.
Caiden and Eunice were also stunned. After regaining their senses, they attempted to step forward and intervene but were stopped by the bodyguards.
Not only that, there was also an assistant nearby, who captured the entire scene on their phone.
Winry was in a state of utter panic. Her dress had been stripped off, leaving her in nothing but a white slip. With her hair disheveled and strewn about, she squatted on the ground, her face flushed a deep red. Clutching her knees to her chest, she wept pitifully.
Caiden’s face had also turned a deep shade of red, a clear sign of his shock at the unexpected turn of events. Gathering his courage, he stepped forward to argue his case.
“Mr. Jaywalker, my daughter mistakenly wore the dress you gifted. This happened because I failed to guide her properly, and for that, I apologize on her behalf. However, she is still an unmarried young lady. By publicly undressing her, how is she supposed to face people in the future?”
Eunice was filled with resentment, but she dared not lash out. Through her sobs, she said, “Mr. Jaywalker, when you brought the betrothal gifts, you didn’t specify who they were for. Winry is a renowned lady of Junbert, after all. If she has done something wrong, she can apologize, but… isn’t this punishment a bit too harsh?”
“The marriage contract between the Jaywalker and Sommer families was always meant for Josephine. When did I ever say I wanted to marry someone else?” Michael said coldly. “Besides, are you unaware of what your second daughter has done to my future wife?”
“What has Winry done?” Caiden shot Winry a stern glare.
I’ve warned Winry not to complicate matters. What on earth has she done?
Winry’s heart was also filled with unease.
Did he discover that I locked Josephine in the basement?
Michael turned his head and instructed, “Jorvan, show Mr. Sommer the video.”
Jorvan unlocked his phone and handed it straight to Caiden.
As Caiden watched the video, the color instantly drained from his face.
Winry was holding a bowl of dog food, forcing Josephine to eat it.
The video depicted Winry in a very different light from the refined lady she was known to be; her face was twisted, revealing her as nothing more than a delinquent.
Eunice covered her mouth, feeling a wave of dizziness wash over her.
She was there when Winry forced Josephine to eat dog food. However, she never expected Winry to record a video and post it online, which Michael ended up seeing.
It’s over!
Caiden clenched his fists. He couldn’t believe Winry had pulled such a stunt behind his back.
“Mr. Sommer, your daughter humiliated my bride. What do you have to say about that?” Michael asked with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
Caiden was shivering all over, unable to utter a word.
Suddenly, he turned around, glaring at Winry.
“Dad, I…” Winry stammered, her voice trembling with fear.
“You’ve disgraced the Sommer family!” Caiden slapped her across the face.
