“I went with you to the hospital for the check–up. The report clearly stated…” Sean started, but I didn‘ t let him finish.
“That was just a misdiagnosis,” I said, cutting him off with a flat tone that shut him down instantly. “The doctor said I’m perfectly healthy.”
“And by the way,” I added, leaning in just a bit, “I’ve got a pretty high fertility rate.”
I wanted to make sure he understood exactly what I was saying.
The years of our marriage hadn’t been easy. His family, especially, had never let me forget that I wasn’t able to get pregnant.
They’d throw little jabs here and there, calling me a hen that couldn‘ t lay eggs. Sometimes, it wasn‘ t even subtle.

after month, nothing happened, and there was no baby.
It wasn’t until I moved on and started seeing Grayson that the truth finally hit me. The problem wasn‘ t me–it was Sean.
After just two months with Grayson, I was pregnant. A simple check–up confirmed it: baby’s healthy.
Sean’s face twisted, his brain struggling to process everything.
His finger shot out, pointing at me like I was some kind of criminal, and then he shouted, “Impossible!”
The shock in his voice was palpable, but I could see the realization starting to hit him.
“Michelle, how did you become like this?” he spat, his words mixing anger and confusion. “All these years, I treated you so well, and you‘ re so heartless.”

Then, his voice softened, almost pleading. “Even after everything, with you and Grayson sneaking behind me, I was still willing to forgive you. I loved you. Is there any guy who loves you as much as I do?”
I wasn’t buying it. The same tired old lines. It felt like he was running the same
record over and over.
“Grayson, get him out of here,” I said, my voice as cold as ice. “You’ll be getting a court summons soon, and we‘ re moving forward with the divorce.”
I turned on my heel, heading back toward the bedroom without another word. I was dealing with pregnancy sickness, and the last thing I needed was more of this drama. I needed rest, not a scene.
But Sean wasn‘ t letting it go. He hung around the house for days, refusing to leave. When that didn’t work, he called the cops, claiming Grayson had trespassed and that the house was still his.

When the officers showed up, I calmly handed over the divorce agreement.
“He’s my ex–husband,” I explained flatly. “This house belongs to me now, and we have no relationship anymore.”
But Sean wasn’t done making excuses. He tried to convince the officers that this was
just some petty argument between a young couple.
One of the officers glanced at the divorce papers, his expression shifting from neutral to disapproving.
“You‘ re already divorced,” he said, his voice cutting through the tension. “And you’re still here causing a scene? You know how to make guys look bad!”
The officer shook his head and pointed at the paper I held. “It’s pretty clear here. that you were the one who cheated and got another woman pregnant. How‘ s she the one causing trouble?”

like I’d slapped him in front of everyone.
“What did you say?” he asked, his voice. trembling with shock and fear.
I didn’t need to say anything else. He grabbed the divorce papers from my hand and started flipping through them. With every page, his face got paler.
He’d thought I was just making a fuss. But now, as he read the fine print, the truth was there in black and white. The cause of our divorce was his infidelity. And the fact that he’d knocked up his secretary? Yeah, that was part of the deal.
“Michelle, how did you find out?” Sean whispered, his voice shaking. The smug, cocky attitude he usually wore was gone, replaced by nervous guilt.
“These are just rumors,” he said, trying to keep some of his dignity. “I’ve been completely innocent with Veronica. How could I cheat on you?”

was Grayson, the guy Sean had tried to blame for everything.
Grayson just chuckled, mocking him.
“I didn’t know I had a girlfriend named Veronica,” he said, his voice oozing sarcasm. “Sean, if you‘ re gonna lie, make your stories believable. Otherwise, you‘ re just gonna end up looking like a fool, and trust me, that’s not gonna be nearly as fun as you think.”
Sean’s rage was palpable now.
His face was twisted in fury, his fists balled up so tight I thought he might break something.
“Michelle, don’t believe his nonsense!” he shouted, but the words had lost their bite.
His world was crumbling, and he knew it.
