I rubbed my eyes, shook my head, sat up on the bed, ruffled my hair. It was as if my brain isn’t functioning anymore, like I didn’t hear what she said.
“What did toy say, doctor?” I asked the woman who seemed taken aback by my yelling earlier. I looked over at Alpha John, hesitating for a moment, but the Alpha gave her a nod.
You are carrying two babies,” she repeated and I gasped, my shoulders drooping.
How the hell did the Moon Goddess expect me to give birth to two children? I was still thinking if I should keep the pregnancy and what? I was going to give birth to twins?
“That’s nice,” Alpha John noted, nodding slowly and I snapped my head at him, raising a brow.
That’s nice? You’re saying that because you aren’t the one who is carrying the baby. There is no father who will take responsibility for the child and I have to take care of them all by myself. And yet, you say it is nice?“! scolded, raising my voice at him. His eyes widened for a bit before he exhaled.
“I need you to calm down. I only said that because I loved the fact that you were carrying twins and nothing. else, I didn’t mean to offend you,” he apologized. For some reason, I hated the fact that he apologized to me, it made me feel like a bad
person.
“Sorry to interrupt, Alpha, but I have other patients to attend to. She needs utmost care and rest as any little stress can endanger the life of the babies. At the same time, I will prescribe some multivitamins she will need for the pregnancy, and a nurse will bring it for her and also discharge her,” she explained and he nodded, thanking
her.
I wondered why he was the one thanking her and why she was telling him everything when I was the one who the focus should be on, but I asked no questions, watching her leave the room.
“You should rest, I’ll come back to ch*ck up on you when the nurse arrives,” he said and turned to leave, but I was quick to grab his hands, stopping him.
Alpha John, where am I? I don’t think I should just do as you say when I don’t even know where I am, right?” | questioned and he let out a sigh, turning to me.

“Miss……” he said my name, but I realized that I didn’t tell him anything.

Jane,” I replied and he nodded.
“Miss Jane, you are in my house, the house where the leaders of the Greenwood Pack lives,” he informed me and I furrowed my brows in confusion.
Why would you bring me here? Why not the hospital?” I asked and he shrugged, acting nonchalantly again.
“Because I don’t always feel comfortable when I am in the hospital. And also, I tend to avoid rumors as much as possible. What do you think the pack members would say when they find out that I brought an unconscious woman to the hospital?” He asked and I pursed my lips, agreeing how awkward it would be if rumors about us spread among the pack members.
Thank you for saving me. But, I don’t have to stay here, right?” I raised a brow at him.
Of course not. You are not a member of this Pack, you are probably a traveler, so I can’t keep you here,” he admitted and I looked down, playing with my fingers.
“I actually came to this pack to stay, I wanted to become a member of this pack, “I admitted, raising my head to look at him.
Why? Are you a lone wolf?” He asked, but I shook my head negatively.
“I was sent out of my pack by the Alpha, “I confessed and he took a seat beside me, taking interest in what I was saying.
Why?” He asked again and I shrugged.
“I don’t know either. We were childhood friends and I have been in love with him since we were kids. We found out that we were mates a year ago and we accepted each other. We have been living together for a year now and I was soon to be Luna. We have even completed the mating process and we agreed to mark each other on the night I was going to be made Luna of the pack, I explained to him.
Only for him to reject me. I never expected that from him, but he mated someone else even though they weren’t married yet. He publicly disgraced me and sent me out of the pack in front of all the pack members and all these things happened on our first year anniversary. So I had to travel and I ended up here, “I finished my explanation and he frowned.

“He is an asshole for choosing another woman over you. Though I don’t know you at all, your face tells me that you are a much nicer person than what that dickhead of your mate abandoned. I’m very sure that he doesn’t know that you are pregnant for him,” he stated and I nodded my head agreeing with him. He was a real asshole, but I don’t regret ever loving him.
“Of course, I also found out about it recently and I don’t plan on telling him. Since he rejected me, then he also rejected everything that had to do with me. I don’t plan on telling him about my babies, “I rubbed my belly, feeling nothing when I touched it.
“I will take you in if you want me to and also take responsibility for the babies,” he assured and I furrowed my brows at him in confusion.
I want to help you. You need utmost care and attention like the doctor said and I cannot let you leave when you are not fully well. You can leave when you have given birth,” he elaborated and I gasped, placing a hand over my mouth.
He wants to take me in!!!
