Nicholas had made it clear that it was time for Bradley to leave. He had several meetings lined up that day and simply didn’t have the time to engage in trivial chatter with his naive younger brother.
With a hint of frustration. Bradley walked out of Langford Group and drove away.
Meanwhile, Emery found herself hosting an uninvited guest once again–Howard.
After arguing with her family the entire morning. Emery found herself exhausted. Once lunch was over, she fell asleep.

“Emery, please don’t be like that. Can’t we just have a proper conversation?”
Howard heart ached at the sight.
He couldn’t understand why Emery had changed after Winona returned.
The latter had become unrecognizable from before, transforming into someone sensitive and bitter.
“Emery, actually, 1-”
Before Howard could finish his sentence, he was abruptly interrupted by Emery’s icy voice.
“Since you’re my ex, you should behave like one. Stop appearing before me and pretending that you care!”
Howard’s face instantly turned pale, as he hadn’t expected Emery to utter such heart–wrenching words.
*Emery, you take care. I’ll come and see you another day!”
Suppressing his unhappiness, Howard turned around and left the hospital room.
He walked down the hospital corridor, his emotions a jumbled mess.

He remembered the moments he had spent with Emery. Those beautiful memories now felt like shards of a broken mirror. piercing his heart.
As Emery watched Howard’s retreating figure, her heart remained utterly unperturbed.
She had completely lost hope in this man. The deep love she had for him was now replaced by an equally intense hatred.
It was slightly past four in the afternoon. Sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow on the hospital room floor. Joshua walked in, carrying a meal box.
With an indulgent smile, he gently said, “Emmie, you must be starving!”
Emery looked up, her gaze landing on Joshua’s flawless profile. For a moment, she found herself utterly transfixed.
She was filled with confusion. She was no longer the prominent young lady of the Langford family, and her reputation had taken a serious hit. Why is he still so good to me?
“Mr. Joshua you’re done with your work!”
For some reason, Emery felt a bit scared. When she spoke to him, her voice subconsciously became incredibly gentle.

Upon opening the meal box, Emery saw that it was filled to the brim with delectable dishes, emitting an enticing aroma.
The steam rose invitingly from the quiche, while the ravioli was translucent and enticing. The honey–glazed ribs had a glossy. red hue, and the fried clucken tenders were crispy and delectable. Not to forget, the rich mushroom soup filled the air with
“Mr. Joshua, you should have some” she exclaimed “I can’t finish all this food by myself”
Emery looked at the abundance of food in the meal box and spoke Joshua picked up a fork with a smile, and they began to ir together.
