Xavier uttered those threatening words slowly.
Yvette’s gaze turned solemn at that. She had always known Claude was important figure abroad, but she had yet to learn exactly what his job was.
She had found him seriously injured many times.
“It’s not your style to harm others if it doesn’t benefit you, is it?” Yvette feigned calmness.
Xavier’s tall figure loomed in front of her. “It sounds like you know me well. How do you know it doesn’t benefit me?” His Adam’s apple moved slightly.

Xavier let out a cold laugh. “You’re wrong. I never do business if I’m going to lose. With the position I have, I know money isn’t the goal for some businesses.”
For years, he had been putting pressure on Claude’s businesses in the country, making things difficult for them to operate.
What had he done all of that for? Hadn’t it been to vent his anger?
