Unbreakable Love: His Passion for Her Transcends Death

Chapter 122

Yvette couldn’t find a way to vent her frustration, so she walked into a bar and got herself a few drinks. Being drunk was the only way she could temporarily forget all of her troubles.
Meanwhile, Xavier took a cold shower for more than an hour before the effects of the drug slowly faded away slightly.
He exited the bathroom in a robe and realized that Yvette wasn’t at home. After he asked his bodyguard, he learned that she had gone out to the bar.
Yvette was drinking alone in the bar when a tall figure suddenly blocked the light in front of her. She looked up in a daze and saw Xavier’s dashing face.
“Why are you here?” When she spoke, her breath reeked of alcohol.
He frowned. “When did you learn how to drink?”
In the past, Yvette would det drunk after just a glass of beer. But at that moment, the counter was full of empty glasses.
Yvette hadn’t expected him to ask about how she had gotten into drinking and was stunned for a moment. Then, she said charmingly, “I think it was after our second year of marriage.”
Back then, he hadn’t been by her side, and she could only numb herself by drinking a lot. Xavier gulped and finally realized that he didn’t know her at all.
He snatched the glass from Yvette’s hand and placed it aside. “Let’s go
home.”
When she heard that, her eyes teared up a little.
When the wind blew on her body, it felt cold. She stood on wobbly feet and was ready to walk out.
After she took a few steps, Xavier suddenly picked her up. Her whole body was lifted in the air, and she instinctively grabbed his arm.
“Put me down. I can walk by myself.” She felt a little anxious.
He ignored her and walked quickly while saying, “You’re not allowed to drink in the future.”
Yvette leaned into his embrace and didn’t hear him clearly. She also kept quiet and said nothing else.
After he placed her in the car, the driver started driving.
It rained that night, and it was colder than usual outside. Since Yvette was only wearing a thin layer of clothes, she curled up her body in the corner.
When Xavier saw that, he pulled her into his arms. Summer wasn’t even over yet, so he wondered why she was so cold.
As she lay in his arms, the alcohol she had consumed began to mess with her mind. Then, she started pouring out her regrets from the past. “Xavier, I just thought of how we got married back then.”
Xavier’s arm around her tensed up. She continued to mumble, “Other guys would’ve carried their wives

out of the car. I was the only one who had to walk out by myself.”
He suddenly felt depressed. “You sure remember these details well.”
Yvette looked calm, and there was only self–mockery in her gaze. “Maybe it’s human nature to remember negative things about others…”
Xavier couldn’t help but tighten his grip on her. “You’re drunk.”
“I’m not. I’m extremely sober.”
She looked up at his sharp jawline. “You’re an impressive man, but you’re not an impressive husband.
I hope you can let go of your prejudice against me and set me free one day. Maybe we can still be friends by then.”
He was in disbelief. Just two hours ago, she had still been trying to seduce him. Now that she was drunk, she said that she wanted to be friends with him.
Xavier figured she was speaking from her heart because of the alcohol.
He felt hurt for some reason and remembered how she had confessed to him when she had been in
university.
He had told her that they could be friends back then, but she had said, “Love is being selfish and wanting to have someone for themselves.
“If you aren’t willing to be my boyfriend, I’ll never be your friend! If you can’t be my man, I would rather think that you’re dead.”
Xavier felt frustrated, and he looked at the night sky outside the window. Then, his eyes unknowingly turned red.
“So, you want to be friends with me, huh?” he asked in a deep voice.
“Yeah.” She nodded.
