The servants were terrified, too afraid to utter a word.
The drunk Julian suddenly had a dream. Hillary looked graceful in it and said softly, “Do you still remember the agreement we made when we got married? Three years. If you don’t love me by then, I’ll leave.”
Julian jolted awake. The room was pitch dark and his bloodshot eyes filled with pain. His voice was hoarse and trembling. “Hillary, I love you!”
Then, the words from his dream echoed in his mind. He abruptly recorded a video, staring into his phone. “Don’t give up on me, I beg you. Please, come back to me. This time, let me love you, okay?”
His tone shifted as he continued, “Don’t you miss your parents? They miss you terribly. They’re getting old. Can’t you come back and see them?”
Days turned into weeks, but Hillary was indeed resolute. She was avoiding him so thoroughly that she wouldn’t even see her own parents. How could she be so heartless?

Still, Julian never gave up. He searched everywhere, exhausting every possibility. When all else failed, he resorted to offering a massive reward online, turning the entire nation into his search party. No matter where she was, he would find her. As long as she returned to his side, he would do anything.
Each day, countless tips poured in–someone claiming to have seen her silhouette, another spotting a woman with a similar side profile. Julian followed up on every lead, but each time, it wasn’t her.
Some people even deliberately framed him and some even had plastic surgery to look like Hillary to seduce him. Alas, he mercilessly sent them to the jail.
The woman broke down, screaming, “I love you! I even changed my face for you! Why won’t you even look at me?”
Julian regarded her with utter disgust, his fury boiling over. Every word he spoke was like ice. “I only love Hillary Jones. You? You don’t even deserve a glance from me.”
Every night, he stroked Hillary’s photo and his red eyes could no longer hold back tears. He choked as he said, “Hillary, I only love you and only you in this world”
Then, one day, his mother found him unconscious and the floor smeared with blood. She screamed and called
for an ambulance, ultimately breaking down. “Julian, don’t scare me like this!”
Later, Julian developed anorexia. His stomach churned with nausea every time he tried to eat, but he forced himself to swallow every bite. He had to stay alive; he had to find Hillary. As long as everything could go back to the way it was, she wouldn’t abandon him.
Julian was going insane. If he vomited after eating, he would get a nutrient injection. His father was beyond disappointed. “You never cherished her when she was here and now, you’re destroying yourself over her. What a

Even so, his parents still helped him search. His father humbled himself to beg the Jones family for information. Nevertheless, they simply responded, “We don’t know where she is either.”
His mother, once a dignified and elegant woman, had gone gray from stress. She tried to talk sense into him. “It’s just a woman. There are plenty of women in this world. You’ll find someone else after Hillary. When you grow up, you’ll understand that she isn’t the only woman in the world, just like Willow back then.”
At the mention of Willow, Julian reacted violently. His pupils were shaking. “No! It’s different. Mom, Hillary is different.”

Julian’s voice broke into a painful rasp, filled with despair, How much longer would it take for Hillary to return? He swore that if she did, he would apologize. He would never treat her the way he had before.
In the cold hospital room, Julian would wake up from nightmares in the middle of the night. Seeing the empty room, he would cover his face with his hands and sob. His face was full of anguish. “Hillary, Hillary.”
His parents had pulled every string they could. They were beyond frustrated. “If Hillary saw you like this, she’d probably turn around and walk away.”
Their words pierced Julian’s heart. He looked at his haggard and unsightly reflection in the mirror. He used to be so proud of his appearance, but now he was a picture of desolation. Hillary might really leave if she saw him like this. Julian couldn’t imagine a life without her. From that moment on, he resolved to pull himself together.
Nonetheless, there was still no news after countless days. “You’ve been searching all over the country. Have you ever considered that she might be overseas?” asked his father.
