I sighed and stared at Adam, “You told them?”
Adam shrugged, “Of course. I couldn’t hide it.”
“Were you going to hide this from us, Lily?” my father asked with a frown.
I sighed, “No, Daddy. I just didn’t want you and Mom to get so worked up.”
“Christ, Lily, what that boy did to you,” my mom sighed, patting my hair.
“Maybe we should have this conversation at home, I’m dying to eat your welcome home cake, Lily,” Adam said. We chuckled as we headed to the limousine. The car ride was short as my father kept asking me what I wanted him to do to Andrew.
When we arrived home I smiled at my father, “Don’t worry Daddy, I’ll handle it.”
I
We stepped out of the car and I took a moment to appreciate our house. It still looked the same as it was three years ago but it seems to have undergone serious renovations
“I’ve missed you all,” I sighed.
My mom smiled, “We missed you more, kiddo.”
We entered inside and I took off my shoes as Adam stared at me.
“Did you come back with just your small bag?” he asked suddenly.
I shrugged, staring at the mini traveling bag I was carrying, and nodded.
“Yes, it’s hospital stuff that’s here,” I answered.
“Don’t worry, Lily, your old room is still intact with your clothes which still fit I hope since you’ve lost weight,” my
mom said.
Adam smiled, “Relax, Mom. If it doesn’t fit, I’ll take her shopping.”
I laughed as Adam followed me to my bedroom. Three years and I still knew my way around the house,
“How are y
you?” Adam asked me once we were in the room and out of earshot of our parents.
I shrugged, “If I’m being honest, I’m better”
Adam smiled, “Good. I’m glad you’re back.”
“Me too,” I smiled, ruffling his hair,
“Oh and yes, you’ll help me fix this hair today,” Adam said before leaving.
I smiled before going to shower, I spent a good amount of time in the bathtub scrubbing my body before I came out feeling refreshed and dressed in a flower gown.
My parents and Adam were waiting for me at the dining table and I apologized for keeping them waiting
“That’s alright,” my father said as the maids served our food.
We ate in silence for a while before my mother spoke.
“How are you feeling, Lily?” she asked me.
I smiled warmly at her. “I’m just glad to be home, Mom. And I’m glad you and Dad aren’t upset with me.
“We could never,” my mom said
My dad nodded, “Yeah, and you don’t have to worry about your grandmother’s will again.”
I shook my head, “Actually, Dad, I would very much like to claim the will”
My
y parents exchanged glances and even Adam stopped eating.
“Are you sure about this, Lily?” my mom asked.
Đ
“Yeah, no pressure,” My dad added. “This was why you ran off last time, we don’t want that to happen again.”
I smiled, “You don’t have to worry about me running off, Dad. I’m back for good and I want to claim the will.”

My father nodded hesitantly, “Alright. I’m sure we can arrange that in a few months.”
I shook my head, “No, Dad. I intend to claim it as soon as possible. Today if the lawyer is available.”
My parents were stunned. My mother touched my hand and squeezed softly
“No, Lily. You don’t have to do this, especially after what you’ve just gone through,” she said.
I caressed her hand lovingly. “Thank you, Mom, but I promise I’m fine and this is what’s best for me.”
My mom nodded as she stared at my father, “I guess you’ll have to call the lawyer for her, honey.” My father nodded as he tapped on his phone before nodding at me
“She’s on her way,” he said to me.
“Thank you,” I smiled at them.
The rest of our meal was quiet as I knew my parents would be wondering if I was alright. But I knew I was fine and the first step in my revenge plan was this.
I had spent hours in the hospital researching and making plans, I hadn’t returned to Miami just to heal at home. I’ve healed in the hospital, now was the time to inflict worse pain on those who hurt me.
The doorbell rang and shortly after a young blonde woman in her early thirties was ushered into the sitting room by one of the maids.
“Good afternoon, everyone,” the woman smiled politely, “I understand I’ve been called here concerning a will reading that happened three years ago.”
I nodded, “Yes, I’m back and I’m ready to accept the will.”
The woman looked at my parents and they gave her the go–ahead signal‘ so she cleared her throat.
“Lily, you realize that for you to claim the will you’re agreeing to fulfill the clause stipulated in the will?” the lawyer asked.
I nodded, “Yes, I’m aware.”
“You’re willing to get married to the man your grandmother chose for you before you can claim your inheritance and become the sole heiress of The Wellington Empire, is that correct?” the lawyer asked.
