I bolted out of the bedroom, panic surging through me as I realized I was naked. The cold air hit my slap, but I didn’t care–I needed to find Freya. I could hear her footsteps echoing down the hallway, and every step felt like a dagger to my heart.
“Freya!” I yelled, but my voice was hoarse, filled with desperation. Just then, I turned to Raina, who was still lounging in bed with that infuriating smirk on her face. “What did you do to me?* 1 demanded, anger boiling inside
me.
She shrugged, her casual demeanor infuriating me even more. “I didn’t do anything. You’re the one who got drunk and brought me here.”

“Hell would freeze over before I would ever touch you,” I spat, my fists clenching at my sides. “You know that.” “You know that.” Raina rolled her eyes. “Sure, but you were so eager last night. At least I fulfilled my part of the bargain. The antidote worked, and your grandmother is getting better.”
“Don’t act like you did me a favor,” I shot back, rage bubbling over. “You’re the reason I’m in this mess!”
I stormed back into the bedroom, grabbing my clothes from the floor. My mind raced as I dressed, I couldn’t believe this was happening. I had to find Freya and explain everything, to make her understand that I hadn’t betrayed her.
As I burst out of the house, I nearly collided with Ivan, who was standing on the porch.
“Roy!” he shouted, and before I could react, he punched me square in the jaw.
“What the hell, Ivan? | exclaimed, stumbling back
“Why would you sleep with Raina?!” he yelled fury in his eyes. “You’re hurting Freyal”
“I didn’t sleep with her!” I shouted back, my voice rising in frustration. “I was drugged! I don’t remember anything!”
*Then why the hell were you in bed with her?” Ivan demanded, crossing his arms.
“I don’t know!” I replied, my voice breaking. “I need your help to expose her. She set me up, Ivan! I can prove it.” “Prove it how?” he asked, skepticism written all over his face.
“I don’t know yet, but I need you to help me find evidence. I can’t lose Freya She has to believe me,” I said, desperation creeping into my voice
Ivan’s expression softened slightly, and he let out a frustrated sigh. “Okay, but you need to figure this out fast. you care about Freya, you need to show her that you didn’t betray her.”
“I will,” I promised, “Raina won’t get away with this. She thinks she can ruin my life, but I’ll make sure she pays.” “Let’s go,” Ivan said, his tone turning serious. “We have to find out what happened last night.”
As we drove through the streets, my mind raced with thoughts of Freya. I could only imagine how hurt she must be, how betrayed
“Do you think she’ll listen to me?” I asked Ivan, fear creeping in again.
“She’ll have to,” he replied, his grip on the steering wheel tightening. “But you need to have something concrete. No more half–truths.”
“I know,” I said, determination setting in. I’ll do whatever it takes to prove I didn’t do this.”
“Let’s start with where you met her yesterday.” Ivan said.
As he drove I forgot that he had tried to force himself on Freya I was glad he was helping me.
We arrived at the bar where I met with Raina last night. I walked up to the bar attendant.
“Please, we need to see the manager,” I said to b
The bartender grumbled, “Did something happen?”
“It’s urgent!” Ivan snapped beside me.
Reluctantly he took us to the back room and I saw the manager. He stared at us and frowned.
“How may I help you? I’ve already told your friend that I don’t delete CCTV footage,” the manager snapped,
infuriated.
I was filled with joy, “No! Please don’t.”

He stared at me like I was crazy. “What do you mean? The lady you were with yesterday had been here last night urging me to delete the footage and offering me a huge sum of money”
Quickly I explained my situation to the man and he was more than happy to help. He played the footage and knew this was what I needed to clear my name and get Freya to forgive me.
