“I can’t wait to see you tonight, I miss you I feel like we’ve been apart for so long.” Lance said.
His voice was tinged with something I couldn’t quite place but I figured he was probably joking so I went along with it. What’s the harm? We’ve already established the fact that this is a contract marriage for our mutual benefit.
“Don’t worry, Hubby, very soon I’ll be with you,” I grinned.
“I can’t wait,” he said and we ended the call.
I felt something warm and fuzzy inside me but I didn’t have time to dwell on it as the door opened and my parents burstin.
“How are you?” my mother asked worriedly.
I rolled my eyes, I didn’t even have to guess as my father hugged me.
“What did Adam tell you guys?” I queried.
“He said you saw Andrew and that girl,” the disdain on my mother’s face as she said ‘girl‘ was obvious.
I sighed, “Did he also tell you guys I slapped them?”
My parents heaved a sigh and Adam chuckled behind them.
“In my defense, they didn’t wait for the full story.” Adam laughed.
“You’re an asshole,” I laughed
O
My parents stayed with me for a while just to make sure I was alright before they left to prepare for tonight’s party. I had hired some people that would get me dressed up. I wanted to look my best tonight.
A few hours later we were ready for the party and I followed my parents in their limousine. When we arrived at the door, everyone had an invite except me
“I’m so sorry, Miss, we can’t let you enter,” the security man said
I frowned, “This is my party. I didn’t think I’d need an invite to enter my own event ”
“I’m sorry, Miss, but it’s strictly by invitation,” the security man said.
My mother gave me her invitation card, “Go ahead, dear, I can go home.”
I shook my head, “No, I’ll call Lance right now and sort this out. All of you should go inside
When I assured my parents that everything was fine, they went inside. I was trying not to get upset as I dialed Lance’s number.
“You better let me in else you’ll lose your job before the night is over, I threatened the security man.
He didn’t look fazed, “I’m sorry, Miss. It’s a policy.”
Lance picked up the
all on the third ring, “Hello, Princess I’m a bit busy right now, what do you need?”
“Your security won’t let me into my party without an invite,” I said to Lance.
“Shit!” Lance groaned, “Don’t worry, baby girl. I’ll send someone right now. Just give me five minutes.”
“Oh and I want you to fire them,” I added with a scowl.
“Done,” Lance agreed and the call ended.
I folded my arms and smirked, “Here’s a chance for you to redeem yourself.”
The small guy looked worried while the big guy kept a straight face as he spoke.
“We would still lose our jobs if we let you in without an invite, Miss.”
Just then I heard a smug voice behind me, “If it isn’t the wannabe princess elite.”
I groaned, why do I keep bumping into this fucking bitch?
